Guest guest
Just had appt with pediatrician for ear check and he wants us to go ahead with neuro consult from PT recommendation. He also was curious about this crease above his bottom that runs perpendicualr with his " crack " . Any of your children have this? PT was puzzled by this as well and of course I dont think ortho even saw this far down on him~ I have posted a picture in his folder of it, please check it out! Thans! > > > > > > We had our appt today with the pediatric orthopedic surgeon and according to his xrays he did, he has only a 5 degree curvature of the spine so does not " technically " classify as scoliosis and he will re xray in 6 months to keep an eye on him. He said once a curve has been seen you will not go without being seen again so he goes back in October. > > > > > > Steve & I were both puzzled and questioned the hump in his back, uneven legs creases, uneven shoulders etc... all that the pediatrician and PT have pointed out and he said, yes, he has all those things but his x-rays are good. All those things do bring questions of his hips / spine but films are good so it is just Sam and maybe still straightening out from the womb and with the help of PT working out his neck. I asked how the xrays done at children's and read by pediatric radiologist could be so wrong and he said he is not saying they were wrong but as of today he is at 5 degrees so that is improvement and he will re check him in 6 months~ > > > > > > Now just pray when we go back in Oct that he is still only at 5 and has not progressed! We were alittle concerned with what if he is wrong because pediatrician, 1st xray, and PT say there is something, I feel like even if he is at 15 degrees today and its just a difference of opinions, the treatment would still be re xray later. The main thing we needed to know TODAY was that it is not congenital and he confirmed that it is not. > > > > > > He said he did not feel he needed the neuro consult that PT recommended and to let him " grow into himself " . I asked if he saw alot of these cases progress and he said no, they usually progress when they are born with the curve but he is obviously resolving. > > > > > > Thanks for all the responses I received and I pray he is right~ Thoughts? > > > > > > > > > > > >
