well, I am a Charter Member so I never went through that but if I were looking for all of this, I would put in " Sound sensitivity " and see what happened...

We are getting close to 70 members, hard to believe. The most common

way that people are coming is through my other websites but a fair

number are just stumbling across it via internet searchs.

Ok. a key question:

What words or terms did you use for the internet search?

Marsha

Thank you very much for getting back to me. I initially tried the words " noise

sensitivity " but this did not lead me to your site and neither did " eating

noises " . I did stumble on a chat room discussing noise sensitivy and saw the

word " hyperacuisis " used to describe sound sensitivy. This was the word that led

me to your site.

I am still wondering what treatment options are available. Also, my fiancée

still has some reservations that this is mostly a physical problem and believes

there is a psychological component. What has been your experience with this?

Sincerely,

Marina Sciucco RN.

I used " soft sounds sensitivity " , but that's a phrase I picked up on

during previous searches.

Hi all!

My name is and I just found and joined this group today. I'm

probably similar to many of you in that I've been sensitive to certain

sounds for what seems like all of my life. I've dealt with it in

various ways up until now, but the time has come to do something about

it because it's causing severe martial problems.

The question is, what is to be done? So far my research hasn't

revealed any definitive solutions. I've spoken with Ms. on the

phone once , but have been reluctant to make the commitment to her

therapy for various reasons. Is this a physical problem? A mental one?

Both? I've also recently concluded that I have tinnitus, which I'm

sure doesn't help anything.

So my question is, has anyone on here treated this successfully? If

so, how? Where do you start?

Thanks,

the sad part is some practitioners of TRT for Hyperacusis and/or Tinnitis say that soft sound sensitivity is the same thing, others separate it as Marsha and others have done.

it can be very confusing , we welcome you to the group. I personally think Marsha is performing a very groundbreaking service to all of us, known and unknown and, as time goes on, we will know more about this. But she has some great suggestions which I am sure she'll share here.
