Guest guest
Nelly- Looking over Stratton's patent materials, in his list of " Antichlamydial Therapy Directed Toward the Initial Stage of Chlamydia Infection, " the " cryptic " growth phase which occurs within the host cell, he lists: metronidazole (preferred), tinidazole, bamnidazole, benzinidazole, flunidazole, ipronidazole, misonidazole, moxnidazole, ronidazole, sulnidazole. Also he lists nitrofurans class meds: nitrofurantoin (preferred), nitrofurazone, nifurtimox and about 5 others. He then adds a third catagory for a " unique class of antichlamydial agents " which effect both the replicating and cryptic stationary phase (using his susceptibility tests in the patent) which include isoniazid (INH- preferred) niacin, nicotinic acid, pyrazinamide, ethionamide and aconiazide. (I have added 1000mg of niacinamide to my regime because of this-- seems to potentiate the abx a bit) Of the abx for the replicating phase he lists a bunch. Your spiramycine isn't on the list. Preferred are levofloxacin, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, azithromycin, clarythromycin, minicycline and rifampin. Others are listed as well. Hope this helps, Jim Message: 14 Date: Thu, 21 Apr 2005 02:30:01 +0200 From: " Nelly Pointis " <janel@...> Subject: Re: Re: Cpn " resistance " I wrote an email to Stratton asking him specifically about the Wheldon version of his protocal, since Wheldon's recommendations are a bit different in terms of the ongoing abx. Stratton wrote me back saying that the doxy/zithro combo was fine, but the flagyl is the key. Pretty much a direct quote. Hi, Did Stratton say whether tinidazole could be used instead of metronidazole? And whether any cycline/macrolide combo would do? I am doing spiramycine + doxy (also taking artemisinin for Babs) and tinidazole 5 days every 3 weeks. I am about to embark on my 2nd period with tinidazole and after that I am thinking of switching to another cycline/macrolide combo (mino/pristinamycine-it's a 2 macrolide macrolide), still taking artemisinin btwn 200 mg/day and 200 mg X2 day. Any comments welcome Nelly
