Guest guest
Jim, Thanks, Is metronidazole prefered bec that's the most used and easy to get imidazole in the USA or is it bec of special properties (like the fact that metronidazole has a smaller molecular weight than tinidazole)? I've never heard of the other -azoles listed except for benzimidazole. >Of the abx for the replicating phase he lists a bunch.>Your spiramycine isn't on the list. I'm not surprised it's an oldish macrolide, it is sold in France but it might not even be easily got in other less fortunate countries (France has more abx available than any other countries, it even has its own abx that NOONE else has, like pristinamycine which is a combo of 2 macrolides working synergestically, Bleu knows this one) I am thinking of switching the cycline, I am using doxy 200 mg at the moment with spiramycine (macrolide) and I am thinking of switching to minocycline 100 mg + a macrolide (maybe my French pristinamycine). I don't want to draw conclusions too fast but I have been on a kind of a Stratton/Wheldon protocol for 2 months now and I think I am doing quite well (for me that means being able to go shopping for food once a week, and spending only 90% of my time in bed). I am about to go on my second 5 day stint of tinidazole (unlike what Wheldon says to do, I go OFF my other abx to take the tinidazole). I am also taking 300 mg of artemisinin (Allergy Reseach), and after several of THEM headaches, I seem to be sailing along OK now after 3 weeks on artemisinin. My eyes are less sore, I can stay in front of the computer for a bit longer, hence this update. My latest blood tests showed an increase in RBCs, neutrophils, lymphocytes, platelets into normal ranges (I nearly always am below range in neutrophils, and quite low on the others, all near bottom of normal range) Nelly Re: Re: Cpn "resistance" I wrote an email to Stratton asking him specificallyabout the Wheldon version of his protocal, sinceWheldon's recommendations are a bit different in termsof the ongoing abx. Stratton wrote me back saying thatthe doxy/zithro combo was fine, but the flagyl is thekey. Pretty much a direct quote.Hi,Did Stratton say whether tinidazole could be usedinstead of metronidazole? And whether any cycline/macrolide combowould do? I am doing spiramycine + doxy (also taking artemisinin for Babs)and tinidazole 5 days every 3 weeks.I am about to embark on my 2nd period with tinidazoleand after that I am thinking of switching to another cycline/macrolidecombo (mino/pristinamycine-it's a 2 macrolide macrolide),still taking artemisinin btwn 200 mg/day and 200 mg X2 day.Any comments welcomeNelly
