Hi, I looked at your website. You were lucky in that you were able to tolerate high doses of azoles and lamisil with no liver problems, but I am not so lucky...I'll let you know when I find out any info on mycograb.

I used the link on your website for IgA deficiency, since my son has

this, but it did not work; so I too would like to see that info.

I have used two antifungal meds, nystatin and Amphoterin B over the

years. The nystatin no doubt was only partially successful because it

only treats the albicans strain and after a while I started to have

an adverse effect from it, not just the consequences of the die off.

The Amphotericin B worked a lot better until the last course which

makes me wonder about resistance.

Although it is said that these drugs do not enter the bloodstream I

began to wonder about that in my case since the amphotericin B would

make me feel more unwell over time, this would cease a while after I

stopped taking it. The area around my liver would become tender as

well. Leaky gut is recognised by an increasing number of health

professionals, candida and other pathogens can contribute to this.

Would leaky gut allow these two meds to be absorved into the

bloodstream.

As for low toxicity, I am sure this is the case generally but for

many with these illnesses which are linked to chronic infections and

toxins liver function appear far from optimal. There has been

feedback indicating systemic antifungals are not well tolerated by

more than just a few isolated cases.

Cheers, Tansy

Hi Tansy , three sites for you ...AF's taken for skin & nail infections are comparatively safe but your right of course about the mix of toxins from our infection added to the stress of taking drugs long term =liver problems ..but I don't see any other solution , motioning your liver functions is the answer .....You need a systemic Antifungal added to Nysatin & amph B ...read Cranton again, three drugs minimum for him !! sorry for the short reply ..i

m just off for the weekend ...

Thats okay tho thanx for the offer. I know about all these drugs and

their toxicity profiles and the p450 enzymes they use up (someone on

this list or another edified me about that). I think lamisil should

be used with care and liver enzymes should be monitored on all of

them. When I tried lamisil years ago I got extreme pain in the liver

after a few days and stopped.
