Guest guest
Hi Ken I did read that when it was accepted, us Brits have learned to keep an eye out for all the psychobabble that is published in many of the UK based medical journals. These are web site replies only but some are selected for publication in the actual journal. Most of you know how bad things are in the UK for PWCs. The rapid response facility at the BMJ provides UK advocates with the opportunity to voice their opinions and correct misleading interpretations presented in any of the articles and papers published in this journal. Anyone can submit a rapid response to BMJ articles, it does not matter where you live or what your qualifications. Not all doctors read them but it provides an additional resource to educate and correct the psychobabble that seems to dominate the british medical press these days. The BMJ, and its website has a worldwide readership. Guest guest
I know :-). This post was a bit of tongue in cheek because it was right next to Dr.M's " publication " , notice the use of the word " Infamous " ... > > > > Just noticed at > > http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/eletters/326/7379/12/b#88124 > > > > where this lovely comment on someone's ability to intrepret is > > questioned: > > > > " I noticed that Trevor G Marshall refers to a paper I published > > (Vanlandschoot P, Van Houtte F, Roobrouck A, Farhoudi A, Leroux- > Roels > > G: > > Hepatitis B virus surface antigen suppresses the activation of > > monocytes through interaction with a serum protein and a monocyte- > > specific receptor. > > Journal of General Virology (2002), 83, 1281-1289). > > > > According to Trevor Marshall I provided in this paper an excellent > > explanation of how the non- infectious surface antigen of Hepatitis > B > > (HBsAg) works to directly oppose the differentiation activity of > 1,25- > > dihydroxyvitamin-D. Guest guest
Yes Ken and I :-)) too. I took advantage of your post to publicise the fact anyone can submit replies to articles in the BMJ. When it comes to papers, articles, and letters about ME/CFIDS corrections are needed cos our doctors are being persuaded its a functional somatic disorder or due purely to deconditioning. > > > > > > Just noticed at > > > http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/eletters/326/7379/12/b#88124 > > > > > > where this lovely comment on someone's ability to intrepret is > > > questioned: > > > > > > " I noticed that Trevor G Marshall refers to a paper I published > > > (Vanlandschoot P, Van Houtte F, Roobrouck A, Farhoudi A, Leroux- > > Roels > > > G: > > > Hepatitis B virus surface antigen suppresses the activation of > > > monocytes through interaction with a serum protein and a monocyte- > > > specific receptor. > > > Journal of General Virology (2002), 83, 1281-1289). > > > > > > According to Trevor Marshall I provided in this paper an > excellent > > > explanation of how the non- infectious surface antigen of > Hepatitis > > B > > > (HBsAg) works to directly oppose the differentiation activity of > > 1,25- > > > dihydroxyvitamin-D. Guest guest
Ping me whenever you spot one that needs comment. I seem to have the art of scientific medical letter writing mastered sufficiently... having worked as a professional technical writer for years (~ 100 articles), it is familar ground. > > Yes Ken and I :-)) too. > > I took advantage of your post to publicise the fact anyone can submit > replies to articles in the BMJ.
