Hi folks,

As above, I'm asking the question - Is it normal to feel like you've swallowed a golfball so early in the piece? I suppose today could be counted as day 3 or 4 for me, and I've just had my "lunch"- some thin watery soup, and I feel like I can't take in a deep breath and that there's a lump low in my throat... on top of the shoulder pain, this is horrid.

Is this OK??

Hmmm...

Hi

I do believe what you are feeling can be normal for some in the

early days of banding. Some people are more restricted than others

and I guess this can be due to variations in swelling from patient

to patient. You also have the small Inamed band which may provide

you with a tighter restriction to those with the larger band. As

long as you are staying hydrated - still weeing - you should be

fine. Don't push the feeling with more fluids, wait a little till

the feeling settles. Also you will find the clearer fluids at this

stay will be better tolerated - say a clear broth over a V8 juice.

I am not a doctor, and if you are concerned, you should contact

yours. However, my opinion is this is normal for some. Hope you

soon get some relief from the shoulder tip pain. I didn't have it

the first time, but did the second. Leave that heat pack on there

constantly, walk around with it. That, pain killers and keeping

moving are the only things that seems to help. A quiet shuffle up

and down the street may help.

Regards

Lorraine
