Sorry this is so long but I feel like quitting.

I have been just lurking for awhile and posted a couple of times last

summer. Have been seeing Dr. Zaniewski-Singh in Houston.

She discovered 2 nodules in June, biopsied one - came back negative.

Confirmed Hashimoto's. Have been on varying doses of Unithroid and

Levoxyl, plus .05 Cytomel. Have gone from hypo to hyper and now back

to Hypo. Until today was on .88 of Unithroid and .05 of Cytomel and

had been feeling better. Today, as my TSH was still high (3.65) my

dose of Unithroid was upped to 1.0. I agreed with this. Plus, Dr.

Z's PA (who I usually end up seeing)said she was going to a

conference in Houston on Oct. 18th on Armour, so I was looking foward

to maybe switching to Armour. Dr. Z does not prescribe Armour now ...

I had not switched to another Dr. yet because she was monitoring the

nodules so well. They have actually reduced by more than 1/2. I

should mention that I had radiation for Hodgkins Disease back in 1987

so I am very concerned about these nodules, I have a better chance

than most of going cancerous.

Anway, cutting to the chase, when I took the prescription to

Randalls, they told me Unithroid was no longer available and he

substituted Synthroid!!! I told him that I had read Unithroid was

still being manufactured and distributed, just by a different

company. He told me that he had called around and " there was no

Unithroid in Houston " . I was so mad I said " screw it " and walked

away.

Help!! I have no other thyroid meds, we are leaving town tomorrow

so it looks like I'm back on Synthroid until I can figure out what to

do!

' in Houston
