Guest guest
Hello all! I am specifically addressing this query to Sally, but would love other input. I live in SE Illinois, in the middle of corn and soybean country. Deer season has also started here, but I would not touch venison from this part of the country. When I used to live in Maine I ate it though. Here, the deer are really " grain fed " , and the majority of that grain is genetically modified. It's big business around these parts. The deer are always in the fields eating the grain, and after harvest they practically live there! Not to mention they are just huge compared to the deer in northern New England! All that grain I suppose. If we should stay away from grain fed beef, etc., shouldn't the same apply to game that feeds in the soybean fields? I noticed the NT book advocates wild game, but am wondering if one should be concerned with the diet of such animals. Shalom!
