Guest guest
I thought that looked a little odd Thanks much for this update, Marie. This doctor seems to be making an effort to be thorough. Interesting to look at this list in light of discussions earlier about what exactly is happening in an authentic 'herx.' I am sorry to hear the flagyl is being so rough on you. It sounds like you've got a lot of challenges on your plate, medically. I hear ya about the cost of IV infusions. Why we can't just have ourselves wheeled down the street to the neighborhood Glutathione Bar is beyond me. This stuff seems so darn useful it ought come in cherry, berry and grape flavors (I'll pass on the lemon-lyme). I'm sending you big fluffy healing wishes, > > Saw my Dr. today. > > > > Here is what he is recommending for endotoxin > > protection. > > > > 1.Binding endotoxin and preventing recirculation. > > > > a. Guest guest
as for Glutathione (GSH), over at the CFSExpeimental board this is talked about quite a bit. the two main ways to increase GSH is with the precursor amino acids in undenatuterd whey (Immunepro Rx), or also a new expensive product called Lipoceutical Glutathione which is supposed to help the GSH actually make it into the liver. here's their site. http://www.wellnesshealth.com/default.asp?ID=42 if you want to follw the the discussions on the other board, here is the link: / thanks bill > Saw my Dr. today. > > Here is what he is recommending for endotoxin protection. > > 1.Binding endotoxin and preventing recirculation. > > a. Guest guest
So what's the word on the street? Any polls? Do people actually say this stuff is helping? In theory, glutathione sounds great. In reality, I did i.v. glutathione a whole buncha times. Noticed nothing. :-( penny " winsomme " <winsomme@y...> wrote: > as for Glutathione (GSH), over at the CFSExpeimental board this is talked about quite a bit. > > the two main ways to increase GSH is with the precursor amino acids in undenatuterd whey (Immunepro Rx), or also a new expensive product called Lipoceutical Glutathione which is supposed to help the GSH actually make it into the liver. here's their site. > > http://www.wellnesshealth.com/default.asp?ID=
Guest guest
penny sorry for the delay in the reply. i believe there are a few people that are taking LipoGSH, and i also believe that they say it is too early to tell. one thing that a lot of people are recommending is to actually first find out if you are GSH deficient first, and then try a treatment strategy and then retest to see if the GSH levels rise. that way it might be easier to identify why the treatment works (if it does in fact work). that is to say, if you have low gluatthione, and then you treat it with either LipoGSH or undenatured whey, and then you restest and your GSH levels improve, you might have direct evidence of your trial. there are three questions to ask: 1) am i GSH deficient? 2) did the treatment raise my GSH levels? 3) do i feel any better? the question is then, how do you test GSH levels. there have been two tests recommeded. 1) Spectracell Antioxidant panel (lowest cost of all their panels) http://www.spectracell.com/ 2) Great Smokies Lab (i'm not actually sure which test from here is best. either the oxidative Stress test or Comprehensive Detoxification Profile.) http://www.gsdl.com/home/ i believe that IV GSH does not present GSH to the body in an ideal way for the cells to use it. i don't know this for sure, but i seem to remember reading this. thanks bill > > as for Glutathione (GSH), over at the CFSExpeimental board > this is talked about quite a bit. > > > > the two main ways to increase GSH is with the precursor amino acids > in undenatuterd whey (Immunepro Rx), or also a new expensive product > called Lipoceutical Glutathione which is supposed to help the GSH > actually make it into the liver. here's their site. > > > > http://www.wellnesshealth.com/default.asp?ID=
Guest guest
Thanks Bill, I think that Rich supports your idea about poor delivery via i.v. because of the liver's lack of involvement. I'm planning to have my GSH tested when I next see my doctor. (It's on a long list of tests I need). I am interested in this product and hope people will keep us posted on how they're responding to it. penny > penny > > sorry for the delay in the reply. > > i believe there are a few people that are taking LipoGSH, and i also > believe that they say it is too early to tell. > > one thing that a lot of people are recommending is to actually first > find out if you are GSH deficient first, and then try a treatment > strategy and then retest to see if the GSH levels rise. > > that way it might be easier to identify why the treatment works (if it > does in fact work). that is to say, if you have low gluatthione, and > then you treat it with either LipoGSH or undenatured whey, and then you > restest and your GSH levels improve, you might have direct evidence of > your trial. > > there are three questions to ask: > > 1) am i GSH deficient? > 2) did the treatment raise my GSH levels? > 3) do i feel any better? > > the question is then, how do you test GSH levels. > > there have been two tests recommeded. > > 1) Spectracell Antioxidant panel (lowest cost of all their panels) > http://www.spectracell.com/ > > 2) Great Smokies Lab (i'm not actually sure which test from here is > best. either the oxidative Stress test or Comprehensive Detoxification > Profile.) > http://www.gsdl.com/home/ > > i believe that IV GSH does not present GSH to the body in an ideal way > for the cells to use it. i don't know this for sure, but i seem to > remember reading this. > > thanks > bill >
Guest guest
have you decided what GSH test you are going to use? thanks bill > > penny > > > > sorry for the delay in the reply. > > > > i believe there are a few people that are taking LipoGSH, and i > also > > believe that they say it is too early to tell. > > > > one thing that a lot of people are recommending is to actually > first > > find out if you are GSH deficient first, and then try a treatment > > strategy and then retest to see if the GSH levels rise. > > > > that way it might be easier to identify why the treatment works > (if it > > does in fact work). that is to say, if you have low gluatthione, > and > > then you treat it with either LipoGSH or undenatured whey, and > then you > > restest and your GSH levels improve, you might have direct > evidence of > > your trial. > > > > there are three questions to ask: > > > > 1) am i GSH deficient? > > 2) did the treatment raise my GSH levels? > > 3) do i feel any better? > > > > the question is then, how do you test GSH levels. > > > > there have been two tests recommeded. > > > > 1) Spectracell Antioxidant panel (lowest cost of all their panels) > > http://www.spectracell.com/ > > > > 2) Great Smokies Lab (i'm not actually sure which test from here > is > > best. either the oxidative Stress test or Comprehensive > Detoxification > > Profile.) > > http://www.gsdl.com/home/ > > > > i believe that IV GSH does not present GSH to the body in an ideal > way > > for the cells to use it. i don't know this for sure, but i seem to > > remember reading this. > > > > thanks > > bill > >
Guest guest
Not sure yet. My doctor told me there was some great new test, very accurate to measure glutathione, among other things. I just don't remember the specifics. Perhaps it's the one you've mentioned. I'll keep your references in mind when talking to him. Right now, unfortunately, cost is a factor for me. :-( penny > have you decided what GSH test you are going to use? > > thanks > bill >
