Guest guest
As a result of a post on another list, I suddenly realized that this may be equivalent to a 19th century parent of a child with Asthma avoiding having a fire in the fireplace because someone has asthma -- instead, you have a damp cold house, encouraging mold instead. You think that you are doing the right thing -- but the kid does not better, but worst. A simplistic-mechanical reasoning not looking at the entire picture. I checked my favorite " state of medicine " site, www.emedicine.com and found that NONE of the following cites Vitamin D avoidance as part of any theraphy: EVERY ARTICLE HAS A SPECIFIC TREATMENT SECTION.. http://www.emedicine.com/derm/topic381.htm http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic3099.htm http://www.emedicine.com/radio/topic618.htm http://www.emedicine.com/ped/topic2043.htm http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic2063.htm http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic516.htm http://www.emedicine.com/oph/topic451.htm http://www.emedicine.com/neuro/topic649.htm And Sharma's article at http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/reprint/109/2/535 does NOT list 25D (common Vitamin D) as a drug to be avoided. The artices do cite avoiding sunlight because it directly produces 1,25D, but there is no recommendations by any of these dozens of MD experts on Sarcoidosis that Vitamin D supplements should be avoided.
