Guest guest
I am having some problems with the increased in fats and protein in this type of diet. Does anyone else suffer from constipation fairly often? I know this has to do with less-than-optimal liver/gall bladder function, which is tied to bowel function. Either it's too much fat and my bile salt production is too low and/or there is a blockage of bile flow. My abdomen and specifically my right side (liver/gall bladder probably) feels tight and congested, especially after eating saturated fats. Has anyone addressed bowel and liver cleanses/detoxes? Has anyone found their fat-handling ability is better after they cleansed? Thoughts on Hulda 's detox remedies? Usually i find that too much protein, combined with too little fat will cause constipation (pelleted droppings). However, with more fat, this should be alleviated, so i thought. With more fat, there are less pellets, but overall, there is still compaction. The only time things move quickly out of my bowel is if i have the sh-- scared out of me. And yes i do exercise regularly and practice deep breathing (as deep as i can breathe at this point). Thanks ----- Original Message ----- From: ms4runr@... It is the same product by Omega Nutrition. I really appreciate that all the products I have seen recommended, in my readings from articles and persons with the Weston A. Price philosophy, are at this site. I don't have to wonder if I am getting the best that is available, both for quality and taste. Nor do I have to go eeny-meeny-mynee-mo. ;)anne
Guest guest
I wonder if it indeed the fat and protein. First, are you off the wheat of all kind? Processed carbs are very constipating. Also, are you eating any fresh fruit and vegetables? If you are feeling bloated, I strongly suggest a day of fresh fruit. Guaranteed. > > I ordered the palm oil from > http://www.spectrumnaturals.com/natnewindex.html > > > > > > I ordered coconut oil from www.4radiantlife.com They support the > Weston A Price foundation with each sale. I am a student of Chinese medicine, in my last year of school (I took my licensing exam yesterday). I wanted to offer you an insight from Chinese Medicine on this topic. I apologize if my response is off-topic. I was introduced to " Nourishing Traditions " through my schooling, and I find the two to be very complementary. The type of pellet-like bowel movement you describe is indicative of the function of Liver as understood by Chinese Medicine. Further, the pain you describe corresponds to an area which further indicates some stagnation in the energy pathway (meridian) associated with the Liver. What the Chinese call Liver Qi Stagnation refers to a disruption in the Liver's function of ensuring the " smooth flow of Qi. " It's not too great a conceptual leap to see how a disruption of this smooth flow might impact (no pun intended) one's bowel movements. A main source of this type of congestion is stress, and also a lack of regularity in one's schedule, particularly as it pertains to eating. I obviously can't make any recommendations in this forum, other than to suggest that if this sparks your interest at all you might consider checking out one of the many titles available on Chinese Medicine or else consulting an acupuncturist/herbalist. Guest guest
I had my gallbladder removed 4 years ago, and it was full of hundreds of stones (my surgeon gave them to me in a bag). Since then, I've learned that I didn't have to let it be sucked out of my belly button - I could have done Hulda 's liver cleanse, which I did a few months ago and now I have no problem digesting fats. The change is remarkable (hence, my remarks about it) and I'm sure I have more stones in my liver, and plan on doing another cleanse soon. (It's not pleasant - the epsom salts are nauseating and getting rid of the stones takes a day of staying near the bathroom, so I have to gear up. Last time I was motivated by bad fat digestion. Now I'm only motivated by the hope that I will feel even better afterward). E-mail me if you want more specific info. about the effects of the cleanse Dana
Guest guest
The constipation when starting this diet seems to happen to everyone. It passes. > > I am having some problems with the increased in fats and protein in > this type of diet. Guest guest
i know nothing about liver problems or gall bladder conditions, but, as a (former) sufferer of irritable bowel syndrome (alternating constipation and diarrhea), i do have a few things to say about treating the symptom of constipation. i assume that you are drinking enough water? (dr batmanghelidj recommends, as a general rule, approx 1oz for every 2lbs of body weight, + or - depending on stress, exercise, climate.) does the amt or frequency with which you drink water affect your constipation? also, have you tried flax seed to relieve the constipation? and someone mentioned eating fruits. my friends in mexico would eat 2 oranges at night or drink a glass of water with a tablespoon of soaked flax seed in the AM as treatment for constipation. they would also wear a cool cloth on their tummy. i really liked this latter treatment --after i got used to it. i was always bloated, and the coolness relieved the intestinal inflammation and helped get things moving. allene
Guest guest
since i made chicken stock yesterday and was re-reading the info on the hydrophilic properties of gelatin and raw foods, it happened to occur to me that maybe more hydrophilic fds might help. allene
