Guest guest
Hi Sam, I've definitely heard of people who've had some major health upswings after getting their tonsils removed. I know of one young woman, who's father is a health practitioner who creates and sells all kinds of health products, i.v. silver, immune boosters etc., who was so incredibly sick despite everything her father tried for her. He designed many of his products around trying to find a cure for her. She just couldn't get better, despite jaw and sinus surgeries, i.v. abx as well as other antimicrobials. She finally had her tonsils removed. The doctor said they were absolutely full of infection, literally oozing when pressed (yuk). And what do you know, she's recovered completely after the tonsilectomy! I thought tonsils were supposed to help rid the body of infection, but maybe the infection can originate in the tonsils? Or maybe the tonsils can't rid themselves of infection once they're overloaded and it becomes self perpetuating? I really don't have any idea, but I first heard of this woman and met her father through a friend who's also sick and sought him out in her efforts to recover. I later heard reports of a couple of other people who've improved dramatically after having their tonsils removed. It could just be that the focal infection is in their tonsils and removing that gives the body enough of a boost to fight the rest off? My daughter's doctors always said they'd never seen such big tonsils and she's also up and down with this illness. Doing better right now. She's gotten much better after doing minocycline for several months, and strangely, she claims that one of her tonsils has " shrunk " significantly. I don't really know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but definitely think it's interesting. Also interesting that so many people with CFS report " sore throats " that can't be identified. They could be tonsil related, or perhaps sinus related. I was constantly sick as a child with colds, sore throats, bronchitis, etc. But it was never suggested that I have my tonsils removed (as far as I know). penny --- In infections , dudehorner@a... wrote: > In a message dated 4/29/2005 8:11:19 PM Central Daylight Time, > pennyhoule@y... writes: > I've just watched this thing play out in so many people who've been > ill for such a long time. Guest guest
I had my tonsils out and in the long term it has made no difference. My Infectious Diseases Specialist Doc suggests using a mouthwash such as Listerine. I will tell you how it works after I have been on it for a while Regards Windsor [infections] strep/tonsillitis In a message dated 4/29/2005 8:11:19 PM Central Daylight Time, pennyhoule@... writes: I've just watched this thing play out in so many people who've been ill for such a long time. Hi Penny and all, Havent posted in a while but try to read thru all post as much as time will permit. This really caught my eye about the tonsils and have also been reading up a bit on tonsillectomy and such. I have a chronic sore throat - dont know if it is strep or C.pnuemonia or M. hominis. I have an appt with ENT the 23rd and hopefully will come away minus them rotten tonsils. I remember as a kid I always had recurrent tonsillitis and my dear ole dad would always swab my throat with either gention violet? or even merthiolate and even mecurichrome - yuk. But it always did the trick and would be ok for another month or 2. Dont have me dad no more so been strugglin with this same old problem and am at a loss of what to do for temporary relief of swollen tonsils and lymph glands. I can take 750mg of Zithro for a couple days and that helps somewhat but the problem always comes rite back. So I guess at this point im gonna try a diffrent approach and get them dirty rotten little bastages yanked rite outta there. I would love a little feedback from anyone who has gone thru tonsillectomy or maybe there is something I could do on my own? Homeopathy? It has gotten to the point now that i cant hardly go outside in a breeze, cant mow yard, cant take walks, cant ride my bike, cant go waverunnin etc. something to do with the wind and pollen maybe but always wind up just sick as hell that nite or the next mornin. Anyway sorry to whine - I know there are so many of you out there that are probably much worse shape that im in, but sure would like some input, links or suggestions. Awrity then headin to the health store to see if i can spend more money on worthless sprays and tinctures. Take care all Sam
