Neuroborreliosis frequently occurs in endemic areas, whereas

encephalomyelitis is uncommon. Treatment consists classically of 2

to 4 weeks of recommended antimicrobial agents with a generally good

outcome. A severe case is reported combining an encephalomyelitis

with an axonal polyneuropathy. Clinical improvement was observed

only with the use of prolonged high dose of 2 antimicrobial agents

combined with steroids.
