Guest guest
I've been trying to raise chickens without soy and have been experimenting with my own mix. Have you come up with a feed that works?
Guest guest
Hi Barb! Your plans sound great!! Where in MO will you be going? I'm in St. Louis, MO. Barb Hi Barb, I am also a Barb. Anyway one of our goals is to be able to have an acrage to teach, teach, teach. Have cabins and have day, weekend and so on learning time and to also try new foods. It will start slow as we are trying to stay out of debt. We are on our way to completly being debt free in the next month if things go well and are going to be working with a great family in Mo. They are an organic farm that rotatoinal grazes dairy cows (they directly sell their milk and raw butter) and sheep and some beef and eggs. They use no soy with their cows in the spring, summer, and fall and a little soy in the winter months ( we hope to see what we can do to change that. They know of Sally Fallon and that is about it. So we will be able to share with them the traditioonal way of preparing food.) We will be adding our expertise of chicken without Soy and Free range. It will take a while to get our own land but I think working with this family we will be able to teach along the way and supply Whole food. WE KNOW DIET IS A BIG FACTOR IN PEOPLES BEHAVIOR AND ILLNIS. BUT THEY HAVE TO WANT TO CHANGE. ITS NOT AS CONVIENT WHEN YOUR THE ONLY ONE DOING IT. Barb in Illinois soon to be in MO. > Hi, > I'm new to the list and a novice at NT-style cooking. I've read scores of books on nutrition and health and NT is the best.... I just love this book!! I'm an occupational therapist and work with children who have problems labeled as autism, ADD, hyperactivity, etc. I know that most of these children can be helped greatly by diet but getting parents to change their ways can be quite trying!! I would love to have a health retreat in the mountains where families learn to eat better (like in NT) and children can stay for a while and get well. Is there already such a place? Most retreat type places seem to be more vegetarian oriented. > > I have a question. In the recipe for making chicken broth it says to skim the fat off the top after it has chilled in the refrig for a while. I'm assuming this fat is then suppose to be discarded (right?). Why should I not eat this fat? What is wrong with it? > > Thanks, > Barb > > > > >
