Dear Friends around the fire:

In these last hours of 2001,

I would like to take this opportunity

to thank all of you here

who have touched my life.

You have each been instrumental

in some big or small way,

in broadening my horizons

increasing my understanding

and knowledge of what matters

by generously sharing

your insightful prose,

beautiful poetry, wondrous artwork

and eye opening labyrinths;

your compassion and understanding;

your anxieties, your fears and your pain

your anger and disdain

your much appreciated encouragments,

thoughtful directions and valuable wisdom

your lovely stories and humorous tidbits

by shining your light on the long dark road

each by revealing a piece of your soul...

allowing me to witness with wonder

how to embrace the light and the dark

Shiva and Shakti

Heart and soul

how to hold the tension of the opposites

without identifying with either extreme

and how to be a gentle, kind and loving

while surrounded by anger and fear

and how to be forgiving of oneself

when committing blunders and mistakes

And I thank you for letting me share

what moves me beyond myself

and for allowing their hidden meaning

to work on your inner psyche

hopefully engendering more reflection

and love of mystery in the unknown...

Thank you each and every one

for bringing more meaning to life

in the midst of all this suffering

and for helping me focus

on getting closer to the center
