Guest guest
Abx combos, as compared to single abx therapy, should be more likely to give room for yeast, not less likely. Tini may have action against yeast tho, according to the Brorson paper on it, which is online. (But tini too could also be pro-yeast at least in principle by killing normally present bacteria that suppress it; I dono if anyone has reported this.) Also, I feel like combos may be more relevant to acheiving effectiveness in the first place than they are to avoiding resistance. Fortunately you dont seem to have an effectiveness problem at this point, if what you experience is caused by herx (one should be alert to other possible causes). Have you ever stayed on any of those abx for consecutive days? Whats your longest and what doses have you done? Over what time exactly do intolerable effects arise that cause you to stop? --- In infections , Hope <hope0073@y...> wrote: > I have positive tests for borrelia, mycoplasma, and c. > pneumonia and have been very ill for years. > > I have been experimenting with abx for about 4 years > and now feel that I need a combo of abx rather than a > mono therapy for a variety of reasons, some of which > are: 1. avoiding yeast proliferation 2. helping stop > pathogen abx resistance 3. affordability of abx out of > pocket. > > I herx on doxy, mino, and tinidazole and have some of > each in my cupboard. I have never had a borrelia test tho but I have had a bite with a ring around it. > I herx on doxy, mino, and tinidazole and have some of > each in my cupboard. I would get so very sick AND they didn't work. > I am wanting people's feedback re: length of time one After about a year of pulsed Doxy, I am feeling about 75-85% recovered AT THIS TIME - I am not done yet. I feel as if we have knocked out the CFS/ME part of my problems. I still have a bad case of osteo-arthritis probably mis-diagnosed as fibromyalgia with calcified cysts in all my joints and two new ones in muscle, and I am having chest pain/palpitations as discussed IE Cheney's new stuff. I took Doxy for usually 7 days at a time, sometimes 10 days but I start to herx right away, ramping up in pain until I am squeeling like a pig for pain meds. Only twice this year did I get to that point when my Dr. " pushed " me to go a bit further than I knew I should. But at least he was there with a prescription pad when I did. I believe it was 200 mg Doxy X 4 a day. I also took (and still take) EPA/DHA X 4 a day (1000mg) and I take folic acid X 4 a day (one pill cut in 4 pieces). We recently added B6 Niacinimide X 4 a day for adrenal failure (no longer needed!) and Trace Minerals with B12 X 2 a day (still needing this one) both are made by Standard Process. During this year of Doxy, one week on, one week off (on average as determined by testing) I also took Amoxicillian (once) and an un- named un-patented antibiotic once. I do not know what it was. It didn't work, anyway, but it was supposed to be a chlamydia-killer. It may have helped the cause but I still ended up back on Doxy when it was supposed to be the end-all of chlamydias. Chlamydia has been the hardest one to knock out, in me. It has been gone a month now, but there are no guarentee's it won't come back especially because I have the osteo-cysts. Now I am on my second round of Flagyl (generic)and feeling the herx of it, but not squeeling yet. I may have to go one more round of ten days on Flagyl but we will know on Weds., if I need to refill my prescription. I am really happy about my progress and I have been feeling pretty darn good for the last month or so. All this was after Mercury and other heavy metal chelation with cilantro. Hope this helps. *Sue* > >
Guest guest
Whoops i was mistaken - i just looked at the bottle of Doxy and it was 100mg not 200mg as I said. These were a certain brand as other brands did not work. (Bottle says IVAX) They are tablets, not capsules. I had to get them at a Compounding pharmacy. Cheers, *Sue* > > I have positive tests for borrelia, mycoplasma, and c. > > pneumonia and have been very ill for years. > > Me Too.
