Guest guest
Moan on i will moan with ya. have you called the doctor?? ya got to get pro-active concerning your own health care-i heard that right here! now if i could just abide by that all the time too, we will be both be better off, lol. i had fatty liver too-it went away when i lowered my cholesterol. what did your first biopsy report say? how long ago was that done? they can see what they need to see on a CT scan, so i am wondering why they want to do another biopsy. i had 2 done in 7 years and i refuse to ever have another one. i hope you contact the doctors and tell them all of your symptoms and find the answers you need. jodoco > > Hi, I just needed to post,I am due to go for another Liver biopsy in > October, due to very high liver blood tests, which have been happening > for about 5yrs now. > They said the last time I had a fatty liver (im not a fat person, just > medium). > The did say they were going to check for 's Disease, but still > haven't heard anthing after 2months!. > Had letter from hospital saying they were going to do biopsy,to see how > far the cirossis has gone and my life expect! > It seems to be taking the doctors so long,I have a swollen > tummy, itching, fluid retention in my ankles..Surely this ant all be in > my head can it? > > Sorry to be moaning to you all,I know ou all have you own problems I > suppose I just wanted a rant. > Take care a xxx >
Guest guest
Hi, a. No, it is not in your head. According to my GI specialist, the onset of acites is the one major symptom that puts you in the " decompensated " classification. He told me that the median survival without transplant after this happens is 50% 2 years. That means 50 percent of people will die before 2 years, the other 50 percent will live longer. I do hope you are seeing a hepatologist. This is the time to go to the ER when the symptoms get bad. The clinic rout takes a lot of time. The squeaky wheel will get oiled, if you sit back and wait for them to call you, you will be left permanently in the dark. Today I had a shunt study and pulmonary test. In 7 days, I will go to the hospital to the records dept. and request the notes, and lab results from today. I will know every thing they found and said about me. You would be suprised how many things get missed, and entered incorrectly. Please take this bull by the horns, and get in their face and request a transplant evaluation. Love, Bobby Just needed to post.... Hi, I just needed to post,I am due to go for another Liver biopsy in October, due to very high liver blood tests, which have been happening for about 5yrs now. Guest guest
If you haven't heard back from your doctor's office in two months you should call back and insist on the results of your test. If you have fluid build up (Ascites) it may be contradiction to have a biopsy. There are risks of infection and bleeding. But just the symptoms you posted are signs of the progression of the disease toward end stage liver disease. It's important that you have your primary care physician refer you to a more qualified specialist.
