, you're not even supposed to expose the family by serving up a meal. Did he say anything about using disposable plates and dinnerware and other such things? Someone else help me out here please. This is my understanding from other members.

Had my iodine radiation pill today, and they told me not to cuddle with my children around my neck, weird! She said she did not want them exposed to radiation...how sad!

I don't guess I got the beginning message of this post and I am VERY currious about it.

, why did you take a radiation pill? Do they do that now for a body scan? When I had radiation therapy about 19 years ago for cancer found in a lymph gland after a body scan, I could not be around anyone. I would go to archives to find the original but don't know how

They told me it was supposed to collect in my thyroid, so when I go

in tomorrow for the second ultrasound- they can see if its hot or

cold. Not I am very upset- I have a message into my PC who refered

me, but it takes days sometimes to hear back!

How old are your children? I am going to put a call into my s-i-l and ask her if she knows anything about this. She is a PA. I'll let you know what she says when I hear from her. I'm sorry you have had this scare, but why would they tell you just to not cuddle them by your neck area if they should not be around you period. Are they that clueless?

Hi ,

Just got off the phone with my s-i-l and she said you really should call the x-ray place that gave you the pill and talk to them about it. She said your dr. probably would not know.

You know when they gave me the radioactive iodine for a body scan they never said anything to me about staying away from anyone. I would think that the dosage would be about the same for what you are going to do. kdevaun wrote:

They are 1, 3 and 10

I don't know why they would tell me that--- noone told me yesterday

that there was ANY risk or I would have done it on the weekend when

they could spend a couple days with my inlaws. In my eyes, you just

dont mess around with that stuff. Thank you so much for contacting

Thanks for doing that...

They are sticking to the story about just not having them near my

neck. Weird. I will be glad when this is done.

Glad to know there is a Blevins in Austin! I assumed incorrectly! I

know the one in Tenn did an article on weird function thyroid tests

in Southern Medical Journal and wondered if your local endoc was

referring you out of state... glad not .
