Good luck - in addition to the Mattman '98 culture study, there are

a couple studies directly (microscopically) demonstrating

persistance of Bb in tissues (after abx).

Be ready for the New England Journal treatment study (c. 2002?)

where no benefits resulted from a significant amount of ceftriaxone

followed by a significant amount of doxy. I dont know how that

happened. Scattered on the web are copies of some huffy letters to

NEJM about that study, which probably have some salient points about

its methodology and epistemology.

Yup, that's in the notebook (thanks to you!).

I think the study was too short and maybe those were the wrong drugs

for those patients. I do remember seeing discussion of it, which I

should try to locate.
