Guest guest Posted January 20, 2006 Report Share Posted January 20, 2006 Ok, thanks for all your responses. I like squats and prefer to alternate them with DL's on a regular basis. I asked the question here because I imagine that when that SI issue came out (80's) it caused quite a controversy. I was trying to find out if it was disproved since then since I haven't read anything that suggests that a spine flexes to the side during a squat due to compressive forces, unless as someone pointed out there is an existing scoliosis. Just to clear it up I wasn't stating that squats are dangerous and never mentioned the knees. I just wanted to know more about the article they referenced and if it held water since it swayed their opinion on it.
