Guest guest
: Your case and Steve's really highlights how our systems can become imblanced. This is what as bothered me from the begining with certain protocols that call everything a herx... Keep us posted on your progress. We're all hoping you and your Doc can turn this around as quickly as possible. Barb wrote: Thank you, . As some of you know, I suffered a very bad reaction from the demands of the treatment protocol on the 'site which shall not be named.' I am still not doing well. All of my hormones (including my thyroid) are become unbalanced. It appears that my adrenals are not doing well either, but we are having to take things one at a time in order not to overload my system. In addition, there are now lots of problems with vitamins and minerals. (I have just been to very ill to have tests done for everything.) My doctor surmises that the Vit. D deprivation is what tipped my body over the edge. I had become very much more hypothyroid than I was when I started, and what little Vit D I had when I had started had disappeared when I went off it. I am still suffering from vision problems which began while on that treatment and were touched off by intracranial hypertension. My vision is not steady and clear even now; it varies from one hour or one day to the next. I now suffer from atrocious headaches almost all the time, and often have very severe muscle aches too. At night I cannot sleep and I am in terrible pain. In addition, my entire body shakes, I become dizzy, I lose my balance, and I have much worse cognitive problems than before. Although digestive problems have been very rare throughout my 14 years experience with CFS, since this last treatment try, I am now having a tough time with them. These were really extreme reactions. I have been so ill that I have not been able to sit or stand in order to go to the lab; I went once and got basic blood tests, including thyroid, done, but have been unable to go back. I am adding vitamins, especially Vit. D, back into my life. I have mostly been too brain fogged, too dizzy, lacking balance to sit or stand, and having extreme muscle weakness to participate much in any of the lists. The truth is, my doctor is doing his best to help me figure out what the damage is and what we can do about it. I do try to read the lists when I can, because I learn so much and it helps me not to feel alone in my symptoms. I thank all of you so much for your sharing.
