Guest guest
> so,maximum how many months? what about side effects? did you > get any of that? For me, the short-term side effects of Prednisone are moodiness (my wife says she thinks she's *glad* I'm gone for two weeks, so that she'll miss the most unsocial part of me), increased appetite (two weeks on Prednisone will more than make up for a month's worth of weight loss effort, dammit) and acne. Serious acne. Whenever I get a prescription for Prednisone, I also pick up a box of Stridex at the same drugstore. The moodiness I can deal with with careful thought patterns (reminding myself, for example, that it isn't the world that sucks, it's just the medication, and please don't take it out on my co-workers), but it isn't always easy. The hunger I can control for about half a day... and then it's dinnertime and I'm lost. And the acne, as I said, I control with frequent face washing and Stridex. I always feel embarrassed as a 35-year-old guy buying teenager medication at the store. ;-) Long-term side effects of Prednisone can be deadly, including kidney damage, liver damage, bone damage, messed up endocrine system, etc. Serious weight gain can occur; long-term users sometimes get a " moon face " , where their face starts getting rounder and rounder. I'm not sure what constitutes long-term doses, though. 60mg daily for a week doesn't. -- Slainte, S. Guest guest
, get honey of you can , eat by the spoonful, it will soothe the dry cough and also make sure you have enough moisture in your hotel room, keep a shower going for some time or put a wet towel on the heat vent. Ricola cough drops can tie you over when going out in public. DON " T get any other, than Ricola, not Hall's, they just will aggravate the cough. Ricola has soothing herbs intheir formula that are gentle and do help. Get better, C-M
Guest guest
Hi , Two weeks ago, I had to go to the painclinic to be evaluated for pain associated with bursitis, that hinders me in my recovery for a broken hip. I got a shot. Didn't ask much what a kind of shot it was, stupid of me. After 3 days, I got bloated, fingers swelled and I got so nasty, that I felt like I could jump out of my skin, just like I feel when on prednisone. I swear I could kill someone when on that stuff, I have a complete personality change. Recognizing the symptoms I immediately took dandelion tincture* for a few days, lots of water and flushed the poison our of my liver. Feel much better now and the hip pain is better ,too.. Often, I think, with modern medicine we just exchange one problem for another.. C-M Easy to make. Take spring or fall dandelion root , scrub well and twirl in your blender with some vodka for a few seconds, strain through an unbleached coffee filter after a few weeks and store. Or eat a lot of dandelion salad, or stick some leaves., chopped up into a sandwich like lettuce
Guest guest
Thank you , one week is definitely not long term. so,for a week, you just start 60mg per day and just discontinue after a week, isnt it? but I think It " s not so good.I heard that you have to reduce the dose slowly (simply because, secretion of natural cortico steroids in the body suppressed it seems).but what about sleep distrubance? I wrongly assumed that the sleep distrubance I had the last week is due to my " love failure " !?!? but it looks like it " s due to oral steroid. I uses always betnelan (Betamethasone),thinking to change to prednisone.Have you heard about alternative days dosing?
