Guest guest
Good to hear from you Amy! Siobhan had an exchange to VEPTR 2's in November - the surgery was tough on her, but as always once she bounced back... Now she's doing great! Her back looks way better (although we're not dealing with kyphosis.) And she's had zero pain - from the time we left the hospital.... Big hugs to little Jaeden. Guest guest
Good to hear from you as well!!Jaeden's pain is doing much better now but his back looks weird?! He has a major loridosis now, he had some with the VEPTR1 but it is way worse now and he looks sideways when you look at him from the front. I will just have to monitor him closely. We have made it 3 years with the VEPTR though. Hope things are well with you all and that Siobhan is doing good. Hope you all had a great holiday and a new year? We did!!Amy and JaedenTo: infantile_scoliosis Sent: Thursday, January 8, 2009 7:33:49 PMSubject: Re: Jaeden's update Good to hear from you Amy! Guest guest
Amy- I am sorry to hear that your son is experiencing pain, I hope this subsides soon. I don't have any experience or knowledge of surgeries, just hope that he feels better soon. ~Krista Subject: Jaeden's updateTo: infantile_scoliosis Date: Thursday, January 8, 2009, 4:17 AM Hello,Jaeden just got back from Salt Lake City. He had an exchange ofinstrumentation. Dr. changed him from a VEPTR 1 to a VEPTR 2. Jaeden is having a lot of pain which is very unusual for him. He isdoing much better now 2 days post op. I am hoping this is the bestthing for him. it is making his back look more loridosed. Anyone elsehaving this kind of problem? Or have heard about it. They told me itis because the VEPTR 2 is more straight at the top to help pull backon the kyphosis. Guest guest
Hi Amy - when you say lordosis, and that he looks sideways - he isn't kind of bent over? Is it just his back and not his posture? Siobhan used to be bent over until the rods were taken off her pelvis. That made ALL the difference. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Jackie, he always had a lower inner lumbar curve with the veptr but it is much worse now. he looks to be bent to the right a lot more then before. it doesn't look like he is bent over! I don't want to move it off his pelvis because of his rotation! talk to you soonAmyTo: infantile_scoliosis Sent: Friday, January 9, 2009 2:25:48 PMSubject: Re: Jaeden's update Hi Amy - when you say lordosis, and that he looks sideways - he isn't kind of bent over?
