Well here I go with my info... I am 43 and have been married for 23 years

this December. We have two daughters, 19 and 24. I have one grandson who is

three and another one on the way. I work for a large HMO in Portland Oregon

and have been with them for almost 11 years. My husband is an engineer who

has been with his company for 25 years. I had been watching the TaeBo

infomercial for months before I finally broke down and ordered it. I had

suddenly gained about 20lbs last January and thought this may be the thing

to help get this weight off. I started it in March and then got sick so I

had to re start it again in April. I had been going good with it until

recently when I suffered extreme fatigue and then an injury to the tendon

in my right foot. Ihaven's lost any weight but I do feel good when I do it

on a regular basis. I need to get back in and start doing it several times

a week again so I can see some results..

Hi Barb,

Sure, I'll introduce myself...LOL I've been

TaeBoing since the tapes came out in late December,

1998 and I just love it!! I got serious about it in

January of this year. I'm 31, not married but have

been with my sweetie of a guy for 11 years now...LOL

I live in Canada. I really enjoy the internet...have

found some great people on here and a lot of support

for my TaeBoing and weight loss journey. That's it

for now I suppose...LOL The rest will come along

later...LOL And if you ask some of those that know me

already, I'm a bit of a nut bar (but in a good way

LOL).

Hey there,

After reading everyone else's bios, gosh, I think mine

is too short...LOL

As for me, well, I'm an Executive Assistant, have a

degree in Poli Sci and am working towards becoming an

Optometrist (that's my link to the Medical Field LOL).

I work full-time and am doing my pre-reqs part-time

which seems to be taking FOREVER but I just keep

plugging along...LOL Then it's 4 more years of

schooling full-time before you can call me Dr.

Roxanne...LOL

As for TaeBo, well, I've lost 24 lbs in 10 mths and

prior to that, I lost 20 lbs watching what I was

eating and walking and running up and down stairs. I

am thankful EVERY DAY that came out with this

workout because I know I can do it forever...I am

never bored but the other exercises got boring fast!!

I also had to change my eating pattern and have

adopted a mainly vegetarian lifestyle but I am finding

I need to eat more now to be able to have the energy

to workout and to repair my muscles. It's like when I

was a teenager and I could eat anything and everything

and was always eating because I worked out so much. I

don't eat junk food now, only healthy foods...LOL But

that all comes with age, right?? LOL

I have posted a couple of times on the Boards as

FoxyRoxy and on ICQ, I'm Rocksy...all of them

derivatives of my ACTUAL name Roxanne...LOL

Okay, this is getting kinda long now...LOL I'll sign

off...

It's been fun reading everyone's stories...here's mine.

I am 29 years old. I live in Nashville....have been here for 3 years, but I

grew up in Pennsylvania. For those of you who are currently single...here's

another of those " I never would have thought it would happen " love stories.

My fiancee is in a band called the 'Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies'. I met him

at a show and thought it would only be a summer fling type thing. NEVER in

my life would I have ever believed that we would fall in love and get

married. I met him the summer of '96...we got engaged in Feb '97...were

planning to get married in Oct '98...then I found out I was pregnant in

April '98. I had just ordered my wedding dress...special ordered it from

Spain..and when it did come in and I went to try it on, I already didn't fit

it because of the pregnancy..my boobs were the first thing to get larger.

Anyway, we decided to wait until after we had the baby to get married. I had

a beautiful baby girl on Christmas day. And we will probably end up getting

married sometime next year. The wedding dress has been hanging in the

closet for the past year and I tried it on just recently and am just a

little bit away from fitting back into it.

Anyway, as far as taebo goes...I started weight watchers in Jan of this year

and was running alot and going to they Y to lift weights. In May, my uncle

who had raised me since both of my parents were killed by a drunk driver

when I was ten, committed suicide. It was a complete shock to everyone in

our family. I went to stay with my aunt for a month because she was all by

herself and started doing taebo because I couldn't afford to pay for a

temporary membership at a gym. Since January I have lost 34lbs and I'm sure

I've lost inches although I never measured myself. I currently weigh about

5 lbs over my WW goal weight, but everyone tells me that I look even better

than I did before I got pregnant which I totally attest to taebo, since I

have gained much more muscle tone and such a more positive outlook on

things.

I am currently a stay at home mom taking care of my 10 month old. Before

that I was a travel agent. I have a BA in Psychology and am thinking about

going back to school to get certified to teach.

Well, there's my story in a nutshell. Taebo has been such a positive

influence in my life as I know it has in many of yours. It's good to know

there are others who share the same passion as I do....I'm not a complete

lunatic for being so excited about EXERCISE (although we all know it's much

more than that).

Poster Boy,

Where are you from? They are really big in the South...FL, GA, TN, etc.

They're also really big in the Northeast...especially New York City. They

have a ton of fans there and Northern New Jersey. They've been together for

awhile and have 3 cd's out. They've had some songs that have gotten airplay

on the radio, but haven't quite " made it " to the big time yet. We're still

hoping. Currently they are on tour with ZZ Top/Lynyrd Skynyrd as the

opening band. They were only supposed to be on about 10 shows and have kept

getting extended so somebody likes them. Maybe they'll get the whole tour

which would be through the end of December. We should find out soon.

Anyway, they are a great band. If you're interested you should check out

there latest CD 'Big Wheel'. Sorry about the non-taebo related post. But I

always get excited when somebody recognizes the band (even if it is just the

name)!

Geez... that sounds like me... My boobs were the first thing that increased

in volume. Actually looking at me, you would never know that I'm 15 weeks

pregnant... except for my boobs... They are now humongous (disproportionate

to my body). I used to wear a 36 C, now I'm at a 38 DD...

Hmmmm something else a few of us have in common I see. I am not *sob*

one of those who suffers from VBS (vanishing boob syndrome for those of

you who did not see it on the boards) so when I do those jumping

jacks...oh my..I will try and find one of those bras with the straps

you can cross..Sounds good to me :)

It is really hard to classify their music because they have a really wide

variety of influences. Some would say it's " southern rock " which I guess

some of their more 'rock' stuff is. But they've also got a little bit of

the blues/soul thing going on. The lead singer has an incredible voice and

they end there set with him singing 'Amazing Grace' with no instruments.

It's enough to bring tears to your eyes. Anyway, they really are

talented..their vast musical variety is one of the things that makes them so

great, but it's also probably one of their biggest problems. It makes for

one huge marketing nightmare.

Barb, that would be hilarious to get them on the soundtrack. I'm sure we

could add some cool dance beats to some of their songs to make them 'funky'.

I use to work out to their music all the time when I used to run. But I'll

take taebo to the monotony of running on a treadmill anyday even with the

best of music!

Barb,

Yeah, I guess when I do finally fit back into that dress... will have

had a huge part in it. Maybe I'll send him an invitation...he he

Thank you for the kind words. I also believe that there are reasons things

happen to us and while it may not be evident right away, there is something

to be learned from that which we endure. I know that I am who I am today

because of all that I have gone through and I truly believe that I am a

stronger person for it...we all are. If we can just hold on long enough to

see beyond the immediate pain of our situation, hopefully we will grow and

learn from the pain. Guess that's what life is all about..the good and the

bad...it makes us who we are.

On the sports bra....at my size only Hanes from walmart seem to be the

best at keeping the " jiggle " under control, but of course they are the

only company that makes them in a D cup.
