Guest guest
When I wrote about Snowdrift this evening it was with full knowledge that Trina would see my email. I even pointed out that Snowdrift had become a member in the past few days. The difference between me and the back-biters that wrote to Trina is that I do things in the open. When I have something to say to somebody I say it to their face, I don't scurry around talking behind their backs. > Thought you should see this - sanctimonious bastard If the person that wrote this thinks that I am such a sanctimonious bastard, then what do you think that you are. You are like the person that will come to dinner as a friend and stick a knife in you hosts back. What are you doing on my list if you think that I am such a bastard? Pat. Guest guest
Pat, I stand behind my past comments about Snowdrift and do not need to reiterate them now. I have been very vocal about Snowdrift on at least two other lists that I formerly inhabited. Things have been quiet on this list since my last controversy so I guess things could heat up again though I am not looking for trouble, controversy or fights. I will simply say that four peers of this industry, two of whom are well published and are adjunct faculty in cosmetic science at FDU have confronted Snowdrift on numerous issues of fact and fantasy. Snowdrift cannot support with any valid science many of their claims and statements. In one of the last verbal disputes two years ago involving antioxidants and efficacy Bill admitted that he had not performed controlled studies to support his claims for ROE. As a scientist trained in chemistry as he claims to be, he should know better. Maybe he now has valid data to support that position. His claims for the origins of sorbic acid and the salts thereof are totally preposterous. Many of the chemicals used in industry today can be found in nature but are often at such small quantities as to be unfeasible to extract. Using synthetic organic chemistry it is commercially feasible to manufacture these materials but to claim they are natural in his context is a complete falsehood. Note, I have stated " his context " because those on this list know that I have a much broader definition of " natural " and have stated it many times. When Bill and Trina become forthright and honest in their work in this industry then I will consider revising my opinions. It is their type of half-truths; omissions and falsehoods that will continue to bring the increased scrutiny and regulation by the FDA to the personal care products industry. We must all follow the same rulebook, large and small. The FDA slaps down the big guys and the small guys too. The big guys are just easier targets because they are easier to see but they will get you too in time and with congressional mandate if we are not all careful. Guest guest
Heck no..Not me..seriously.. I had logged on and this was the first e-mail I had read.. so my response was " well alrighty then " ..Actually pretty harmless..more of a " WHOA " ..I know you said things were going to get heated up..but it caught me off gurad. Someone actually referred to YOU as a " " sanctimonious bastard " ???I have never dealt with Tina or Snowdrift for that matter..Quite frankly, when I did go to their site, a lot of what they stand behind as being " all natural " concerned me, so I figured it's best left alone to purchase items from them that are questionable to me. I am not disrespectful in that manner. If I had an issue with someone, I would take it up with them personally. I'm sorry you thought it was me.. It wasn't..I don't know you and have no right to be name calling..again..sorry for the confusion..Just my way of kinda lightening things up. Sincerely, SuziQ Pat McDonnell wrote: Suzanne Ayres wrote > Well..alrighty then...)..people have issues I > guess??? Risa, being slightly sensitive is an understatement, being pissed off is more accurate. I don't have a lot of time for people who run around criticizing other people in secret. My mother used to run people like that out of our house when I was a kid, and I will do the same here if I find out who they are. Pat. Peace, Joy, Serenity House of Scents tm. Guest guest
Glad it was clarified..Have a great night..and don't let people get to you..It's not worth the stresss..I totally understand in standing up for what you know is correct..I would do the same. But unfortunately not all people are on the up and up..and people that are less knowledgable are vulnerable to people they trust for advice on buying products.Hope this evening finds you well.. Guest guest
Dear Pat, Have I missed Angie's post? If there's something I should know about a product being sold I would like to see what is being said about it. Did that make sense? I guess what I'm asking is if there's a product being misrepresented out there I would like the particulars. Did I miss Angie's post or did she decide not to post the mailing to the list? Thanks, Sherry > I was approached by Angie this morning to see if it was ok for her to post a > mailing she received from Snowdrift Farm. Perhaps it was copyrighted by Snowdrift Farms and Angie had second thoughts. Maurice
