Guest guest
hey, Last night Jill replied about her source for the marrow finding: > : Nick said this to me on the phone, I think they > tested only 2 patients. Huh, strange reaction, the 70 cc thing. I guess youve certainly been tested for anemia. I dont know how much blood a person is sposed to have, or anything like that. But - maybe(?) its possible that serious disseminated microvascular injury, and very poor circulation, could make you sensitive to very small losses of blood. Serious disseminated microvascular injury is often found when they look at lyme tissue - the capillaries look like hell, really mangled, with disordered cell growth, you name it. In such papers theres often a somewhat emphatic remark which translates from journal-ese as " like, -whoa-. " Its nothing the body cant fix if the disease stops - but as long as its like that, circulation is terribly impaired; many capillaries are totally blocked. Im almost sure this is not unique to lyme - the same thing was found by Wirostko/ when they autopsied mice they sickened using fluid from human uveitis. Other factors found in our illnesses can also contribute greatly to poor circulation - like coagulation, which I think babesia can contribute to. *Some* babesias - it appears likely that different species behave quite differently - also sequester themselves extensively by sticking occupied red cells to vessel walls, and sticking a crust of other red cells onto these anchored cells. I dont know if this happens to any of us, but if so it too aint very grand for our circulation. > i can easily believe that 20% of bone marrow cells are infected with babs but even if only 1% of rbc's are apparently infected with babs, something is still wrong with a majority of the other 99%!!!! my very first symptom 20 + years ago was after donating a pint of blood - first time i felt as if i'd been hit by a mack truck!! now i get the same reaction if the blood draws 70cc's or so - therefore more than 1% has to be somehow affected! can't find anything on igenex's web site about this... my next crusade is to try and persuade a doc (my reg guy doesn't have hospital privileges so can't do it) to give me a transfusion of my son's blood if it Xmatches ok as i'd like enough of a pick me up to get to my mom's 99th birthday party......do any of you know where you saw references to nick harris talking about infected bone marrow? > thanks, > deb... Guest guest
I really regret passing on a phone conversation as I worry I have made a hassle for Nick , and sometimes people are more open with me because of my profession. That is a privilege and I don't mean to abuse it. He mentioned that they'd studied, or tested, two patients' bone marrow, if I am recalling correctly, they were willing or volunteered. So its not definitive that its always 20%. You'd have to test a significant # but its not a pleasant procedure obviously. But it makes sense doesn't it. That could be why its hard to test for and why its hard to get rid of. Today I am in a hateful mood toward these bugs. I simply hate them . --- > I haven't read anything about bone marrow being infected (by Babs) > in humans- I'd like to see Nick's reference.. or data..Not that I > doubt his word.. > > In my job we have a saying.. you collect only 50% of the data you > need and 50% of that is wrong. > > Barb

Cool (but very curious) cats, really. I'm way to grateful to Nick and Igenex to make a fuss at him. I hope this won't discourage you from offering further tantalizing indiscretions in the future, Jill! :-D
