The respiratory bug I've been struggling with the last two weeks, on top of Lyme, is really a doozer. Antibiotics are starting to help, but it may be a while before I'm able to sustain the same level of activity here as before. I have been so proud to be a part of Infection and Inflammation. There are a lot of good sites related to our illnesses, but I have not found any where scientific discussion was carried out at such a high level. That doesn't make I & I 'better' than other sites but it does make it unique and uniquely valueable. So I want to thank you for your efforts and assure you that I am committed to helping in any way I can. I will risk stating the obvious and repeating what others have no doubt said, and just say quickly what my own priorities would be: 1) Recover as much of the archive as possible, threaded so we know how to find things. It is too rich in both scientific references and thoughtful reflection to lose. 2) Find a new home that is less vulnerable to hostile attacks. 3) Remember who we are and keep the ethos of the site intact. Everyone has there own sense of that. Mine focuses on: mutual respect, no sacred cows, facts over ideologies. I am encouraged about the future of the list because I have seen over and over the intelligence, committment and tenacity of its members.
