Guest guest
I am on the Strafford protocol. I had to take a break from antibiotics for about 3 months as I was having heart/lung problems. Finally got that under control and have been on Amoxicillin for about 3 weeks and have had 2 doses of zithromax this past week. This entire week I have been bloated to the size of 8 month pregnancy. Extreme pain, bloating and gas. 6lbs and outgrew my pants overnight. Have been using simethicone, acidophilus and today got a refill on nystatin. Today I had a large BM but it did not provide relief from the bloat so about 2pm I gave my self a fleet enema to see if I could relieve some pressure. Laid down with hips above my head. After 10 min I expelled a small amount of gas, liquid and tiny amount of BM. 20 min. later expelled a large pile of large bubbles. They were shiny like glycerine and held together to form a slime string when I picked them up with stool brush. About an hour later I expelled a large amount of white/yellow mucous. About a half cup. Some of it floated. Then about 2 hours later I expelled some more liquid from the enema. I am sure I passed a plug of candida. It am anxious about it because it took so long to pass this and I am still bloated and sore. I am somewhat softer but my gut is tender. It also occured to me today that maybe I shouldn't assume it is just candida as my Father died from colon cancer. Now it is the weekend so I guess I will just take it easy and if it doesn't get better I will have to see a doc next week. Hate to open another can of worms. Isn't this a lovely illness. On a daily basis we deal all alone with pain , distress and weird symptoms that would send a normal person to the ER. I know I would have gone to the ER 20 years ago when I was still " normal " because I would have know that such pain was not " normal " . Now I am a veteran of pain an suffering. I get so tired of it. I guess I am venting but also tired and a bit worried. Anyone else have any similar experiences with the gut when taking antibiotics?
