Everybody's different and so are their bugs, but I don't know anyone who's found clarithromycin to be all that powerful. Maybe helpful for a little while. But like I said, everybody's different. I don't know anyone who's had the kind of results Steve is having with B12 either (except true anemics), and B12 is one of the first things almost every PWC I know, including myself, has tried. This question reminds me of how surprised I was to see Clarithromycin as an option on the MP now as I don't know anyone who's found it to have any kind of staying power. With all the trial and error going on with the MP antibiotics, IMO, the only consistency it has now, that makes it stand apart from other abx treatments, is the Benicar and living in the dark. I'm still finding the Benicar beneficial. Can't live without it (unfortunately). But living in the dark for months at a time? No way, and amazingly, the Benicar is still effective anyway. Too bad the official protocol is so dogmatic. IMO, there wouldn't be nearly so many people shunning the entire protocol, and especially the Benicar, if the attitudes weren't so dictatorial and inflexible. Especially ironic as we watch the protocol continue to evolve despite the admonitions against varying it. I'm also surprised if so many doctors are really signing on as claimed, especially with so little evidence of recovery so far. The MP literally has people living in the dark for long periods of time. I don't care what the rationalization is, I think such extreme sun avoidance could be harmful long term. Vitamin D is already a big area of reasearch. So I really hope that Sankyo and other researchers come out soon with more studies on ARBs as anti-inflammatories. We really need to understand better what's going on here, how safe the drugs truly are, etc., in tightly controlled studies. penny

That was before the current version of the protocol, of course. Someone should verify this. Ask the inventor about the development of the MP and if HCQ was used, and if so, could it have actually been a factor in achieving his " remission " . penny
