Guest guest
Hi Nelly, the brand of DHEA I was prescribed a while back is made by Pure Encapsulations. You can order from: http://www.purecaps.com/ I also believe that some women have had good results supplementing with the lowest dose of transdermal testosterone. Probably the kind of thing you need to do under close medical supervision, with hormone monitoring. I think I got a much bigger whammy with this latest round of Babesia treatment thanks to the testosterone I'm taking, in the form of Angrogel. > > > > This one is a must read for Lymies: > > > > http://iai.asm.org/cgi/content/full/69/1/123 > > > > I should have added some sort of explanation about why I find this > > so important. > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Nelly, I am ordering this week also. My dose of DHEA is probably more than you would need, as you are probably still making it. Have you had your level tested? Also my MD suggest going with a larger dose of pregnenalone and a smaller dose of DHEA. Sometimes when drugs convert to other things, I want the short cut and just go to the end result, but have learned so so much. The human body is such a miracle. I read somewhere of the tiny amounts that some glands produce at certain times of the day and other glands depend upon that teaspoon full in order to produce their dose. When ever I think of the endocrine system I think of this childs game where you start at the top and drop a marble in a slot and watch it roll down at each turn implementing some other function.....i.e. a pendulum swings and knocks over a cup of water, etc. etc I wish I had been educated in these things a long time ago. They say that the american citizen just wants a pill to get better, but that is what they taught us to expect. I would gladly take my care into my own hands if I were well enough to do the work and gain the knowledge. I am beginnng to understand how my disease process went, but if the doctor won't buy into it then I'm up sh** creek without a paddle. I hope many read this end note, but I wanted tosay that when you go into adrenal crisis, really the beginning stages of the adrenal shutting down, I got hypoglycemia real bad. A pinch of sugar on my tongue would throw me into a stupor. I've looked over the adrenal symptoms and I had them all in classic form and yet the first doctors refused to do cortisol tests. By the time they did, my level was at 0.1. It took four days of sleep to build up enough cortisol to be awake for one day. Excellent book is The Adrenal Insufficiency the 21st century syndrome. I think that is what it is called, I'll go check. Guest guest
Hi Peg, I don't post much anymore but after reading your most recent post I just wanted you to know that any legitimate health professional can order Metagenics products. I sold them in my myofascial practice for years and still use them myself. If you know what you want, try calling around to chiropractors in your area. Most will be willing to sell them to you without a visit. Sorry you have suffered so much. Don't you just love doctors? I am very lucky to have found one that understands my illness (CFIDS/Lyme) and works with me. Unfortuantely, like all the others, he doesn't have the cure. I also had peritonitis, mine was from a botched appendectomy. It was the worst experience of my life. The stupid docs didn't think I was sick till I was almost dead. > > Marie, sorry I'm just getting around to answering the heartwarming > responses I've received here. Guest guest
, thanks for the reply. I will see if I can muster up some metagenics support around town and see if I can get the ultra products. My daughter in law is manager for Baylor University's Stem Cell Research and Bone Marrow Center. Can she order them for me? Ah, yes, peritonitis what a lovely, lovely way to go. In the olden days if you really wanted to make a cowboy suffer, you shot him in the stomach because it is such a horrible death. I told them and told them something was wrong, but my white count didn't go up past 8,000, so they sent me home. Me too, by the time the holes showed up on the cat scan, I was already in a coma about six hours away from the end, they said. Who knows, I just know that was the most horrendous pain a soul could ever, ever experience. You cannot even imagine how bad if you thought of the worst possible pain, you wouldn't touch it. Am I right? The real crime is the low limits that a surgeon has to have in malpractice to operate in the state of texas. He only has to cover 100K in malpractice. That is a sad state of affairs when we are only worth 100K to them. Be well. Peg Thanks for the tips... > > > > Marie, sorry I'm just getting around to answering the heartwarming > > responses I've received here.
