I prefer PEG 150 distearate in a body wash or shampoo-easy to use and good feel. Any reason why I shouldn't be using it? If you like PEG 150 Distearate, you should also evaluate: Crothix from Croda INCI = PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate Glucamate DOE-120 from Amerchol INCI = PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate Antil 171 from Goldschmidt Chemical INCI = PEG-18 Glyceryl Oleate/Cocoate They all behave in a similar manner but have slightly different flow characteristics. According to the data, Crothix and Glucamate DOE-120 act as anti-irritants and the DOE-120 has been shown to reduce eye-sting. BTW, if you go too high, the PEG-150 Distearate will begin reducing the foam height of your shampoo. Maurice ------------------------ Maurice O. Maurice, these are excellent suggestions! Do you personally prefer one over the other for use in shampoo/shower gel? I quite honestly want something that will be perceived by the public as being more " natural " . I have tried the crothix and like it---I like croda products anyway. Price-wise it can't beat the PEG 150 distearate. I was thinking about the glucamate, but did not realized that it had " thickening " qualities. From the " natural " aspect it seems like a winner. I plan to carry something that will be easy for folks to use to make their own products. Additional suggestions are welcome. Thanks again, Angie
