Guest guest
Larrian Gillespie posted the following in her newsletter and I think it is important to bring it to everyone's attention. " Effect of DHEA replacement in Hypoadrenal Women " I have never been a fan of DHEA therapy but this study convinced me of its value in HYPOADRENAL WOMEN. " Just 50mg a day of DHEA in women with proven 's disease can markedly increase insulin sensitivity and provide a much better lipid profile. Now the emphasis is on PROVEN HYPOADRENAL women who have lower adrenal function as a hallmark of aging. In women with even modified adrenal function, DHEA raises BAD cholesterol rather than imporve it as seen in these women. So if you suffer from 's disease or have pituitary problems that result in extremely low DHEA- S levels, 50 mg of DHEA for 12 weeks can make a significant difference in your health profile. Diabetes 54-765-769, 2005 ------- This maybe explains why I have always felt TERRIBLE on just 25 mg DHEA. Though I do brilliantly on 2.5 Prednisolone for mild adrenal insufficiency, my DHEA levels are ok. I also felt terrible on just 10 mg Prednenelone. I think the above information shows how we shouldn't take anything unless it is proved we are short of it. Pam
