Guest guest
Hey, Mark. My last post has been eating at me. It might have sounded that I was making light of your cirrhosis. I wasn't. I always get mad when people in my life tell me " oh, you'll be ok " or " look on the bright side " or " i know an uncle who lived in to his 80's and he had it " . The simple fact is that I am sick. I FEEL sick. I have no life outside of the 20 pills a day I take and keeping low sodium, and watching my protein intake, and making sure my oxygen machine filters are clean. Oh, I have my cats and Ardis' dog, and Sharon is the BEST company. But i used to hunt and fish and play in a band, and you name it. I did mountain man rendezvous every summer, we own a tee pee. I don't think I can get that thing set up any more. I just want to convey to you that like Mac told you, be quiting drinking you might be able to stop the progression of this disease in it's tracks. I did. I just stopped a little too close to that cliff. My very toes dangle over it upon waking each day. You have EVERY RIGHT to vent or be upset, and ask these questions. I know that Ardis was anemic, and it caused a profound case of encephalopathy. She was getting so so much protein load from her own blood. I was with her in the hospital, and witnessed this. That is how I came to my educated guess on both your anemia, and ammonia. Hepatic encephalopathy is insidious. Very hard to detect in stage 1. They call it " sub clinical, because it can only be seen on a brain scan. Here is a link to a test you can give yourself. Do the best you can, and be honest with your self, it might give you some solace. http://www.duphalac.com/professionals/portosystemicencephalopathy/psetest/0,998,\ 10319-2-0,00.htm Click the link, download the PDF ann you can print this out and do it. Have a good day Mark. And everyone in the group. Bobby and God bless Jan. __________________________________________________
