Hi ,

I'm sorry I don't have info about the chest, but my son, age 2 is not

walking yet because his ankles bend in too much (too pronated), and I'm

wondering if you think it's related to the scoliosis. We're

trying to figure out why he's not walking yet. Thank you.

,I wish I knew about the ankles but I am just slowly trying to piece things together and I am probably one of the more clueless people on the list. The bulk of my medical focus lately has been regarding celiac and a rare form of muscular dystrophy (see below). Here are the things I have found linking the various bone deformities. One is low vitamin D or rickets which creates too soft bones. We get a fair about of sun in our family but we also have celiac which can create all sorts of nutritional issues (we have been gluten free for going on 3 years but perhaps this damage happened before the celiac diagnosis?) Also I see references to Erhlers Danlos which I can't even begin to wrap my head around right now. We also have a form of MD in our family (hypokalemic periodic paralysis) which we may not know for decades if he has inherited

and to what degree but it could also play a role for us since it causes weak muscles. I do know that orthotics have made a stunning difference for Miles. The very first minute he stood on them he moved so much better. He ran without stumbling, and he could catch a ball standing up and he began to let his arms move instead of holding them clenched to his sides. Then over the next 6 months his feet have begun to actually improve in their shape and his movements continue to look better and less awkward. I hope you find the answers you need -- it takes a lot of mama-sleuthing to take care of our babies!--
