Guest guest
Hi Graham, Just picked up my copy of Pukka's Ayurvedic reference guide and it opened at the Kanchanar Guggul page!! It contains Kanchanar twak (Bauhinia variegata), Triphala, Trikatu, Varuna (Crataeva religiosa), Ela (Elettaria cardamomum, Patrak (Cinnamamum tamal), Twak (Cinnamomum zeyl.), and Shuddha Guggulu (Commiphora mukul) It's actions are heating, taste: Bitter, Astringent, Sweet, Pungent; Quality: Dry, Light Indicated for all growths and fluid based accumulations, specific for thyroid, swollen lymph nodes, sluggish lymph generally, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosus, weeping inflammatory skin disorders and obesity with sluggish lymph.... " The anti-kapha formula when there is such a degree of stagnation that the ama has congealed to form a palpable mass " Not for use in pregnancy or any dryness in the body....Sebastian, if you are out there, hope you don't mind mequoting from your excellent reference guide which I would thoroughly recommend! Anyway, this sounds mighty good stuff, must try. Now for my query, recent enquiry from a choral singer whose voice eventually seizes up with sore throat...was asking about Salvia etc, but I thought it sounded more like a case for Vib.op and other muscle relaxants...any experience of this anyone...Stuart, any Welsh singers come to you? Happy summer to all Noreen
Guest guest
Hi Noreen, I give out my throat spray to lots of singers and public speakers and get excellent feedback. Haven't got the recipe here, but I know it is based on aromatic waters - Salvia, Chamomile, I think Lavender, probably Thyme, maybe incense, with Peppermint glycerite and Glycyrrhiza tincture, in a spray bottle, sig a few squirts from time to time before and during the performance/rehearsal. My feeling is that making everything smoother and more relaxed locally beforehand reduces the tendency to contract it all in the " wrong way " . Lovely to see you at the weekend. love from Robyn noreenjlopez wrote: >Hi Graham, >Just picked up my copy of Pukka's Ayurvedic reference guide and it >opened at the Kanchanar Guggul page!! Guest guest
The throat problem of seizing up of course applies to speakers as well as singers. I find that Prunus syrup is excellent for relaxing the vocal chords, taken just before the event Alison Davies In message <ceq1hn+3qbdeGroups>, noreenjlopez writes >Hi Graham, >Just picked up my copy of Pukka's Ayurvedic reference guide and it >opened at the Kanchanar Guggul page!!
