Guest guest
Hi Kit, All After a lot of looking around, I found a url which allowed me to setup a free account for drug & medical information. Of course, when I book marked it the bookmark just didn't happen. I can backtrack & find it, and then either you or I can do a search for drug interactions on your laundry list. Just off the top, I don't see anything that conflicts, except that you are taking a number of drugs which all cause drowsiness, and can cause or increase depression. But the Zoloft & caffeine, to the extent they work for you, are hopefully counterbalancing that to some degree. Most opioid-based pain medications have both hypnotic (sedating) effects, which is an occupational hazard of having chronic pain, as well as depressing effects. Long lists of meds like this make many doctors shudder & become control freaks at the patient's expense. But multiple medications are very often the only approach for complex, severe multiple diagnosis patients, which most of us are. I have a friend with a Pharm.D who agreed to help us on meds questions, but he was unable to get subscribe due to a quirk in the ONElist system. He will be available, & I will send him a copy of your post. Your list of meds looks rather creative to me. In my case, a long list was worked out over a number of years by compassionate & knowledgeable docs, and some were suggested by myself & also the friend I mention. The only problem I now have with meds is when a new or crusading doc tries to mess with my list. This has been a big problem for other people in a pain group I have conducted here in Las Vegas, usually because a doctor just didn't want the responsibility of writing control drugs. For that reason I try never to use emergency room or walk-in services. I am even getting some flak right now from a good doc who prescribed many of the meds. He is now so busy he doesn't remember! For a day or so I may not be able to screen posts to our list (not feeling too good) & have set the list to just send posts through. Of course I'll get copies with my own mail, and I think we have a responsible group anyway Will also follow up on the meds list when I back to feeling ok.
