Guest guest
I switched to mtx injections because of the extreme nausea and because of the severe migraine headaches. The nausea lessened, and the headaches became less often...but neither went away. You must have had a bad hospital experience, huh? Well, good luck. Never hurts to call the doc with these symptoms. Guest guest
Dear Tricia, I use to be on the oral Methotrexate a long time ago before they had the injection form. I was on it for a long time. I hated this med it always made me feel ill. I remember that I felt weak, dizzy, nauseated and had abdominal pain from it. Unfortunately I don't think it ever did help me. I was finally taken off of it after I had a rare side effect from it. My blood platelets dropped to 2,000. I was in the hospital for a long time and the docs said that if they had not caught this when they did, I would have died. I was going into the hospital because my disease was so out of control. While I was being admitted I had a nose bleed that would not stop bleeding. Everything went downhill from there. I don't think many people have had this particular side effect. I hope that you are not experiencing side effects from this med especially if it has helped you so much. I hope you start feeling better soon. Keep us posted. jatw@... Guest guest
Tricia, I started out by being super weary and nauseated, with severe off and on headaches, also one night I was very cold all night. This morning my legs ache very badly, also wrists..slight sore throat, and feel very warm, but temp. is 97.5. I feel like a flare, but thinking the nausea is possibly from the MTX. I am feeling like that this very moment and I have been taking oral mthx for the last two weeks because Ive been on holiday and didnt want to go near a hospital for an injection. The Drs didnt say anything about side effects from changing.. Can such a small change bring so much pain? Vicky
Guest guest
Hi Vicky, I'm not sure if in your case the change from the injections to the pills made you feel so sick..but I'm thinking it could. Sometimes holidays/vacations turn out to be more tiring than we expected too, and then we experience a " flare, " For myself...I was all in a " dither " thinking " I was so sure I found the right drug cocktail for me after all of these years..and now it's not working! " Kathi told me that just because I was flaring did *not* mean I hadn't found the right drug mix, to wait and see. She was right. As of today, things are better. (I had temporarily increased the steroids for a week) Will you be ging back on the injection form of MTX ?? Tricia Re: Question about MTX..?? Guest guest
Tricia, I will be going back on the injections as the pills were only for when I was away. We've asked to bring froward the injection to see if that makes a difference. Vicky
Guest guest
Dear Vicky. I had to stop taking the pill form because it made me so sick. I had been on it for at least a year when it just started making me throwing-up sick. I was changed to injectible and (knock on wood) have not had any problems. Good luck and don't let the dragon drag you down. XO > >Reply-To: Stillsdisease >To: <Stillsdisease > >Subject: Re: Question about MTX..??
