Guest guest
I bruise all the time. Never know why! Sue#2 is the EXPERT on this though. It's very common w/ MTX and prednisone and also with the Stills in general I believe. Love to ya. --Sue
Guest guest
I bruise very easily. Just a simple tap can do it. And simple tasks like carrying in grocery bags on my arms will cause a striped bruise. My load bearing areas, especially my feet, bruise if jolted or pressured when I flare. The methotrexate, prednisone, vasculitis, and general inflammation is the cause in my case. If it looks like a sore, not a bruise, see your doctor. I also run over myself with riding lawnmowers once in a great while, which usually leads to severe bruising, especially my forehead when I slap it afterwards, but that is another story. -Brent Re: bruise-like mark from meds? Guest guest
I remember that when I was on Methotrexate and Prednisone I also felt nauseated and was anemic and bruised easily. I think it was more the Methotrexate but I think the combo didn't help. jatw@...
Guest guest
I have noticed since I started Methotrexate that I started bruising a lot. I mean a lot too! I get bruises that I don't even know how they got there. Before mtx I at least knew why a bruise occurred. But I have bruises, somtimes very large ones, for no reason at all. So maybe mtx is the abuser! LOL. Finicia Re: bruise-like mark from meds? > > > I bruise all the time. Never know why! Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I hope that all of you who are bruising so easily get your blood tested regularly to make sure that everything is okay. I just want my Still's Friends to be as healthy as possible. Have A Good Night, jatw@...
Guest guest
Dear Finicia, Please go to your dr. and get a blood test. That happened to me when I was on gold. I don't want to scare you, but in my case if I had taken another shot it could have been disasterous! Sometimes these drugs affect the platelets. I noticed I was bruising and I was sure I hadn't bumped into anything. I am worried for you. Please take care. It is better to be safe than sorry. All the best Caroline --- Finicia Murray Compton wrote: > I have noticed since I started Methotrexate that I > started bruising a lot. > I mean a lot too! Guest guest
Hi all, got home at midnight last night from Mayo Clinic (Rochester) will write more about that later. Just had to comment here. last July when I received my left shoulder repacment..I was off of MTX for several weeks. (am on a *low* dose of steroids) all the bruising and " blood spots " I was getting, and there were a lot of them..never showed up during those weeks. I have asked y rhuemy, family doc and pharmicist what was causing all those ugly bruisy blood type marks. Some small, some large. Size from eraser type to top of pill bottle type. They all kept telling me " it's from the steroids, the MTX doesn't do that. " *But,* I wasn't getting them before the MTX! So when being off the MTX for those several weeks and there were no spots...I went in to show my family doc (he was taking the stictches out of the shoulder) " look, no bruises/blood spots..right? " He had to agree there weren't any. I took my daighter-in-law in with me as a witness. So...Finicia.. I agree with you. It can be from Methotrexate.
