Guest guest
Greg, I hate to say this, but you need to talk to a lawyer. One that deals specifically with medicine. And one that will help you in your price range. DO NOT ask a doctor what type of lawyer you need. I hate to say this. But I think that your wife's medical treatment has been marginal at best and you need specific advice to continue. It sounds like your wife may lose part of her leg/foot. And, no this disease doesn't normally do that. But the fact they treated you as out patient in my eyes is malpractice. Guest guest
Greg, I am so very sorry that your wife and you are having to go through this. My husband had cellulitis after a bout with sepsis a couple of years back. If the leg has progressed to that stage where, as you say, it looks like raw burger, it is not a good sign. I would be pushing the doctors and demanding these tests be done STAT. The chances that this has spread into her bone is high. Once it gets into the bone, the outcomes are not pleasant ones. She could well lose her leg. I'm sorry, I don't mean to scare you, but this is URGENT. Talk to everyone that enters her room about the leg. Every time a nurse or doctor comes in, lift the covers and mention the leg and say what is going to be done about this? If they say tests are ordered or drugs, tell them nothing has been done as yet and ask when and why is it taking so long. This could turn into a life-threatening infection for your wife. Please push the medical personnel on this one. I am praying for you and for your wife. May the Lord be with you and give you strength and boldness. Warm hugs................ Guest guest
Hi Greg, What type surgery are they doing? Are they debreding or amputating? I am so, so sorry that you are facing this! Have you contacted an attorney? I think it was a really good suggestion from MaC. IMO your wife has received sub-standard care and it has certainly impacted her outcome. Don't worry if you don't know all the facts, the attorney's office will get the facts and check into everything for you. Usually they will do this free of charge and won't charge anything until they decide whether they think you have a case or not. Then, their fees will come from the judgment. I don't reccomend lawsuits easily, but I think you are one of the few people I've ever known of who really has a case. Please keep us informed about what's going on with your wife. My prayers are with you both. Warm hugs.............. Diane C. from TN Another update on my wife. Finished six days of antibodics therapy as an outpatient for her cellulitis..
