Guest guest
Hello all! My name is , and I have been making soaps for a few years now. I am branching off and trying my hand at new products, which leads me to my question... I have checked the archives, but have not found a specific answer to my question, although I'm sure this has been covered before. Please excuse the redundantcy. I am making salt glows, bath oils, bath salts, lip balms, etc., and am interested in knowing whether preservatives are commonly used in these, especially when being made for resale. My biggest concern is using oils that go rancid quickly (grapeseed, for example). I like using these oils best, but would like for them to have a longer shelf life. Is a preservative my answer, or should I try something like GSE or rosemary extract? If this has been covered before, please feel free to email me off-list. Thanks in advance! I look forward to interacting with all of you!
