Guest guest
Hello all, I have been a member and have been reading your posts for about a month now. I was introduced to your group by Dave and Aimee. I ran accross their blog and was inspired to start my own about my journey. My name is , I am 48 years old, live in Calif with my husband of almost 25 years and have a son. I also have liver failure, alcoholic cirrhosis, it was diagnosed 3 months ago when I landed in the hospital a very, very sick girl. I had quite drinking 3 months prior to that and makes 6 months ago now. My meld score in the hospital was 47. It has been sitting at 25-30 since then and I have been working to get on *the list* for the last month with the transplant team. It has been a busy, long and emotionally hard road. I am very close now to going before committee and feel confident about them listing me. Physically right now, my kidneys are good and I feel great. I have lots of energy, my appetite is good, no ascites (thanks to the diuretics). I also take lactalose. I had some problems they were concerned with regarding my heart and lungs that would keep me off the list permanently but I had an angiogram friday after getting some platelets and plasma pre heart cath and they said all that looks good now! That was a huge hurdle for me and is making me very happy. I am scared to death with the entire process. Not only the surgery but what it will be like living on the immunosuppressants....(anyone care to share about that?) and what my live will be like from surgery on. I have always been a very positve, active and healthy person and the thought of not living an active life doesn't make me very happy. I guess that is all I have to say right now except that I need a good group of people to learn from and support from them. People who have been down the same road. Thank you for letting me be a part of your group. I hope that I can contribute as well as I learn more and have more experiences. here is my blog address in case anyone wants to check it out. www.reallife-withus.blogger.com
