Hello Neelam!

Has your pt been circumcised (if 'yes' - how long ago)? Have you done a urine

(stick) test? Could it be a fungal infection? Has he changed washing

powder/shower gel/soap/ shampoo (if he shampoos in the shower)/bubble

bath/underwear fabric/diet? Could it be stress-related? Does he ride a bike

(friction)?

Has he tried any remedies yet - like daily 'waggling' in Marigold infusion, for

example?

No experience of this myself, just throwing out a few questions.

Regards,

Hi all,

I now am armed with a bit more information regarding this pt's case. Thanks

- as it happens, he did have a circumcision..heres the story.

Male in his 40's suffering from a chronic (2yr), continous, deep

somatic/visceral pain(or discomfort) located on the anterieror side of the

shaft of the penis, however more localised at anterior head of penis.

Onset: proceeded insertion of genital ring (2003) which resulted in

infection and ring was removed. Had been prescribed a-biotics and also

developed urine infection and boil on root of penis. 2 weeks later he

experienced burning/hot passage of urine - saw GP and was dx with tightening

of foreskin. A year later (2004) he was circumcised. Urine test indicated

all clear. GPs are baffled and cannot find anything wrong.

To this day - a year on, he still feels this continuous discomfort which has

greatly affected his quality of life. He became depressed and was Rx

a-depressants which he didn't feel comfortable taking. Also suffers from

high blood pressure.

The pain - although quite localised now, used to travel down his right limb

as a 'dull ache'. Pain aggravated by heat, stress. Has not found anything

that relieves the pain.

Has not changed his soaps/ degergents and uses gentle products as he suffers

from eczema.

past hx to note: 5yrs old - tonsils removed

15 yrs - shingles

Any suggestions/ treament plans ?? Please help!

Many thanks in advance

It is possible that it is nerve pain, from damage to the delicate very nerve

filled tissues there?

Maybe nerve agents with something soothing externally like a slippery elm/ aloe

and a healing EO.

Joanne Dick(how ya doing anyhow missus. From scottish one!)
