Hi Ken...I'm still here lurking as I would say. I'm fine but the best. I

have chronic lower back pain caused from nerve damage and lately I've

been hurting so bad. I don't have anything for pain but advil but when I

see the pain doctor at the pain center I'm gonna mention it to him.

Joan,

It sounds to me that it is time for a new doctor. I am assuming you

have RA? How does the Dr justify keeping you on a medication that does

not work? It's time to have a heart to heart with him. If he won't

treat your problem, you have to find someone who will. BTW, I'm

basically a lurker too.

Hi Joan,

I too have never found relief from NSAIDS. People have often said to me " How

can you live in that kind of pain " ?

I don't understand doctors that can see that their NSAIDS aren't working and

they don't perscribe something else. Maybe a new doctor is in order?

I hope you can get some relief.

Hi, Im a lurker.....pain has been intense and I have no relief from meds, my

doctor has not been supportive of methotrexate, minocin or other reliefs I

have learned about here online. He sticks by the NSAIDS from which I have

had absolutely NO relief!! Pain has been intense but even I feel it is even

worse in last week, it just broadens my perspective that the torture I feel

I live with can become even worse, not very uplifting that's for sure!!!

Hi Joan,

Glad you de-lurked for a message! I know you may have heard this before and

I also know it's so much easier said than done, especially when you're in

pain, but you should find another doctor. NO ONE should be in that kind of

pain. You have a *right* to proper pain care. If/when the time comes that

you're able to look for another doctor, make this one of the highest things

on your list.

Please think about this. Also, always remember that the folks here on the

list are a fountain of support and caring. Just great people! Glad you're

with us.
