Guest guest
I had my 3 month appointment with my hepatologist yesterday. During the course of that meeting he told me that since my hospitalization 3 other people in the hepatology/liver transplant clinic had to be hospitalized because of pneumatosis coli. For those new members who were not here last July, I was in the hospital for a week last July because gas filled bubbled showed up on my routine CT scan for HCC. I was called on a Fridat my my hepatologist who told me it would be in my best interest to go to the hospital and check into the ER for a surgical consultation and a free air series. I was admitted and kept for a week on 100% oxygen 24 hours a day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUyANTlCHVA The theory being that the oxygen would exchange the gas in the bubbles and dissipate. It worked and I didnt have to have my colon surgically removed, thank God. All three of the other people were on Lactulose therapy. I asked him if he is going to publish a paper on this as it is certainly very rare, and he told me he might do just that, but that it has been described before in published medical papers. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ You rock.
