I happen to be exploring one out here in California right now that is just entering the ASD world, although they have been working with kids at risk, and kids generally for quite a while.They are called " Education Through Music " and their web site is: www.educationthroughmusic.com Randy McChesney, a choral conductor, is the Executive Director of " The 's Institute for Education Through Music. " Their approach " combines neurology and artistry " and their goal is " the enhancement of intelligence. We might just end up educating each other, and of course will need to be focused on a particular direction to garner any funds but this sure seems hopeful. I know that my boys would both benefit from more musical exposure but have wondered what was the best type of introductory program. They are 13 - and, maybe we just start with a piano teacher and see what happens. I believe this kind of activity is important for all kids, but essential for the ASD children.
