Guest guest
You need to use standard/contact precautions for anyone with an active case of MRSA. In my setting we must use contact precautions for anyone with a hx of MRSA, regardless if it is active. This is at the direction of the county health department. Do you all take this information as part of your intake? http://www.cdc.gov/mrsa/prevent/healthcare/precautions.html > > Have a mom who went from tongue tie related wounds on her nipples last Sunday to flaming skin peeling, abscess bursting to the surface Saturday, after having one had spot fine needle aspirated growing MRSA Friday. She is in the hospital as of last night, prob to surgically drain today. What do you all do when working with an active MRSA client-- and what would you do when you get your rental motor back?!?!?! (Just want to make sure that I do everything I should, even if it is no different than what I normally do!) > > > Foard, IBCLC > kfoardLC@... >
