Guest guest
Lily's blood orotate level was high, and there was a warning on the ION report about supplementing aminos with such a high orotate reading. What does this mean?? Lily has been taking 5HTP, and her 5HIA reading was sky high - I will stop the 5HTP. Does this mean she cannot handle aminos at all? We want to give her carnitor, but is it safe? What can be done to correct this? Thanks
Guest guest
High orotate indicates a need for more magnesium and arginine - both are essential to clear ammonia. High ammonia could indicate an excessive dietary protein intake with not enough starches. I would supplement both arginine and magnesium first of all, and then add carnitine or other aminos. Guest guest
All, I understand that high orotate levels need magnesium and arginine to get the ammonia levels down; however, I have read that arginine can aggravate viral loads (I read it in reference to herpes virus'). Should a child with a high IgG Rubeola AB antibodies take arginine if his orotate levels are high? If not, is there another way to reduce the ammonia/orotate levels? Thanks in advance for the help!
