Try the Hydrogen peroxide (3percent) in your ears several times a day. It

kicked by sinus infection in 2 days.

Flu Advice

Well....Dangit...I was making a lot of progress on my diet and health....and

BAM, now I have the full blown nasty Infuenza virus. My hubby has been sick

all week so I tried to get plenty of sleep and eat well, but I still got it.

Any tips on surviving this virus without too many over the counter drugs?

The exhaustion/fatigue is terrible, coughing, major aches and pains, not too

congested, and headaches off and on. The fever hasn't started yet....but I

am just in the beginning so I am sure it will come soon. I am a little

nauseous this morning too...don't know if that is the empty stomach or

drainage, but eating right now is tough. I made some homemade chicken

noodle soup for the DH earlier in the week...so at least I can eat some of

that without much hassle, but looking for healthy quick ideas to help my

immune system if possible.

Thanks in advance

Sorry you're sick! I take a lot of warm baths when I am sick like that- I think

they help to regulate body temperature and they take a lot of the stress off

your joints, so the aches and pains are less. I actually soak in our hot tub

and put the jets on my back, which helps, so that might be good for you if you

have access to a hot tub. (Just make sure that you watch the chlorine levels

carefully so you don't spread the illness!).

Also, I swear by Emergen-C and eating garlic when I am sick. Eat lots of broth,

and get lots of rest....

Quite a few years ago l had what wouldn't subside being treated by my usual

methods. Heard St. 's wort was a good antiviral. As l wasn't treating

it as viral, tried it and it worked. Noticed Schwarzbein uses it in

her standard supplement protocol. Doesn't explain why. News is saying the

major flu is Fijian. Did you make coconut chicken soup?

<Did you make coconut chicken soup?>

No, just some regular soup using some chicken stock I had made recently. My

first attempt at home made chicken soup and the hubby loved it, so at least

the taste was good.

Thanks for the advice Amy. I think the worst part is, I saw how miserable

my husband was so I know what to expect. I had to come into work for a

brief bit this morning to get a few things done then I am back home and to

bed. I wouldn't have come in at all except that 90% of all the people that

work around me are out on vacation. I don't want to get anyone else sick

:(. I don't think I have ever had the full blown flu before...just some bad

colds now and again. I was going to do some baking in the next few days for

X-mas gifts...but that is out of the question now.

I think there was an article on mercola's site explaining it. I don't know how

it works myself. But it did, or maybe I would have got well anyway, but it

seemed to give pretty immediate results. Amy

I haven't tried this myself while ill, but raw garlic is supposed to be a good

anti-viral. I eat kimchi with garlic a lot and haven't gotten ill

since I started it, so maybe it is just elephant repellent or maybe

it works. Also a neti pot (washing the nasal passages) can disrupt

the breeding ground of the virus.

Oh yes. The drinkable chicken coconut soup in NT is the *best* thing for any

kind of sickness. It is great for the immune system, and between the gelatin

and the coconut milk, it is very thick and is a miracle for a sore throat.
