Guest guest
I was trying to send a private email to someone on the list, but that ability seems to be gone. I saw something called Messenger, but it doesn't let me send anything. Is there still a way to send a private email if you don't know the person's private address? Thanks for any help! Guest guest
The only thing I can suggest is: If you wrote to them before -RECENTLY - maybe you can pick up the address by checking your old SENT MAIL - I don't know how often you delete those. Also on AOL - I can go into recently deleted mail and pick up anything from there until I permanently delete it. Other than that - I don't know what to suggest. I'm not real hep with how to do fancy things - Shirley from Southern Illinois The problem is, I don't get individual emails; I read everything on the Yahoo site instead. I can't see anyone's email address. Yahoo used to send the person an email if you clicked on the person's name, but now that does not happen. Did it work

Guest guest
Alice, I just went over to yahoo and experimented. When I hit reply on a particular message, a " to " box appeared on the top of the message and I was able to choose if I wanted to respond to the whole group or to the author of the message. If this doesn't appear for you after you hit the reply button, you can probably go into preferences somewhere and change things around. I don't know where to do that right now. Your other option is to ask people to send you their address in a private message and keep a file with addresses in it on the side so you'll have them when you need them. Hope this helps Elaine > The problem is, I don't get individual emails; I read everything on > the Yahoo site instead. I can't see anyone's email address. Guest guest
see if you can go into manage groups and chance the setting back to 'traditional' if it no longer is. I have that setting and I can still see the email option. Also, from the group when I reply to a post, the To: field, has a drop down menu and allows me to choose to send the post via anonymous email to the writer. Be very careful, i have had it not send it to the writer but default to the group. laurie > > > > > > In a message dated 6/20/2006 11:35:10 PM Central Standard Time, > > moondust@ writes: > > > > > > > > I was trying to send a private email to someone on the list, but > that > > ability seems to be gone. Guest guest
Thank you Elaine, and everyone else who helped me figure this out. Yes, it's quite simple once I saw that the To: box at the top of the " Post Message " screen has a drop-down. I can either choose the whole Yahoo group or the author of the post or the group owner. Pretty slick! Thanks again. Alice > > The problem is, I don't get individual emails; I read everything on > > the Yahoo site instead. I can't see anyone's email address.
